I ordered the double dipped.. I read another review on here that they regret getting that.. the server told me most people get double dipped.. I prefer to dip my own sandwich so the “wet” instead of single and double dip ks what your looking for instead.. I just asked for sauce to dip it in.. the sauce is really hot.. sandwich was about $11.72 now.. I recommend trying once but nothing to brag about.. still good..

The au jus was delicious, of course, and you have your usual cast of kooky downtown characters. I would say the pie was good, but I didn’t get enough to judge since my girlfriend ate almost all of it 😂 we got the beef on a French roll, single dipped. We even saved half a sandwich for our roommate, and it was still good. I think the coleslaw has room for improvement, but I doubt they’ve changed the recipe in 100 years so it’s all good.

Very reasonable prices for Los Angeles. Potato salad on the sweet side. Tender beef thin sliced. The line moves quick. Try going at an ‘off’ time, cause this place gets real busy.

What can I say, that hasn't been said? This place is the OG. Are you in LA? Then you come here. Done. I like the horse radish on the side and yes I ask for a little extra juice to dip it in and yes, it taste amazing. Everything does. The pickles. Yum! The eggs, Yum. The beets, I dont even like beets and they are great. The beef? You gotta try it.

There are two parking lots for customers, one behind the restaurant and one across the street.
Yes, in 1951, to make room for the 101.
Yes, you can get a hot sandwich all day. Breakfast menu I think 10.
Definitely no! We're talking old school, normal slaw & potato!
I don't remember.I was too busy tearing up that lamb dip with a picked egg and potato salad
There are two Lots located on the Philippe's property ample parking spaces for you to enjoy your lunch no rush complimentary as long as you are eating
They accept cards and cash!
Wheelchair accessible at one entrance. Entrance closest to parking lots has stairs. Down a slight hill to the other door, no stairs.
No there is no parking for a RV especially with a tow vehicle you would have to park in the surrounding streets and that's gonna be difficult with so many people around there looking to park good luck and enjoy it's worth it
Everything is very good Tasty, and worth every penny. We've been dining here since 1950's, and 1940's
haha, it means they cut the sandwich in half when served. when speaking of a sandwich, cut diagonally, hypotenuse would mean the area where it is cut - the crustless part of the bread. the longest part of the triangle :)
1951. It moved from the Aliso location, as the 101 widening project needed its spot.
They probably don't do it anymore for sanitation purposes.
Well that would largely depend on where it is shipping to ? I would say if USPS the longest time would be 5-7 days , obviously shorter if closer . Hope that helps
Not online, but you can call it in. Not sure if they deliver though
They bake them daily but I highly doubt that their bread is made without milk or eggs. You might want to consult their website for more specific information and if you can't find it there call them
That may be price when they opened, but not true today. However you can get coffee for less than $1
No
Yes, they accept cards! Enjoy!
Haha... this is PHILIPPE'S!! That's like asking IHOP what kind of SurfnTurf they have!
2 lots: 1 behind building, 2. Across Ord
All you have to know is if the Dodgers are playing that day then Philippe's is definitely open
About a mile away
Sandwiches are made in front of you. Other food comes from the kitchen.
Absolute MUST when in Los Angeles!!! Delicious, delicious food........not anything fancy in any way, shape or form.....just incredible food and really nice people!! Worth the travel to eat at Philippe's!!!
No, sorry, it's an old restaurant, pretty much has the same menu as it did from back when it started,
