Horrible staff and management. Management will kick patients legs from under them to get them down during a code. Patients do not get their full meal times. Nurses will scream and yell at patients all night for no reason. Staff talk horrible about patients behind their backs.

absolutely horrible facility, DO NOT send you family here. They are not interested in helping people just the money. I was there a week and never saw a doctor once but they definitely charged me for it. This place is truly hell.

I worked there for 6 months. I only stayed that long because of the schedule. People are rude, the “seasoned” staff are the worst ones, management doesn’t give you the time of day, and my “training” was a joke. The nurses are the rudest, and trying to ask how to do something is useless. There’s a high turn over rate and low rating for a reason. The patients weren’t bad at all, it’s the staff. One staff who is there thinks she runs the hospital, and is better than everyone there, beyond rude. You’ll know when you meet her! The nurses are required to write notes on the patients, I’m not sure how tho, as they hide behind the nurses station all day long. There is a lot of boundary issues, patients call female staff “momma”. It’s uncomfortable, a management staff also allows it. A lot of fights, people getting hurt. BMH does not care. Also, you’re lucky if you get a break. BMH does not care about their staff nor the patients. I wouldn’t send my kid or a loved one here if my life depended on it.

So many fights in my unit and this place sucked. I loved Ms Turk and a few of the techs. Some little girl kept hitting me. This place was creepy. It’s more like a prison. The only good side was the people made me feel comforted.

I doubt if they would receive anything in a timely manner. They do not make patients a priority. They just do what they can to make money.
you allow to bring clothes but bras can’t have wires hoodies can’t have strings and u can’t have shoe laces person items can’t have any metal can’t be hard or sharp but idk they never let me have my personal stuff
No unions PERIOD. I'm an MHT at BMH. It's hard work more emotionally than physically. I've been there 12 years in Nov.
I know this is an older question but others may be wondering the same thing. From what I understand it's a 72 hour minimum for self admitted patients. If there is any medication changes then they will likely keep you a minimum of 7 days. I've been told the standard is 7-10 days. Which makes sense, if you are contemplating injuring yourself or others, a day or two isn't enough time to get help. My son, the teen male unit, said his stay there was helpful and nothing like the negative reviews said. He did, however, say that the women's(both teen and adult) units seemed to have a lot of issues due to the patients (not staff related). Hopefully you or your loved one is doing better now.
Their 'standard' is one week so they can get all the insurance benefits! This place is awful. It's a JAIL.
No they only allow your parents or guardians
I have been here almost 7 years and I can say unequivocally no!
No
