I'm fortunate enough to have a career that allows me to do a lot of research on folklore and legends, but this might be my favorite tour. Chris, our guide, was incredibly respectful of the locale and the people buried there and the people who died there. His demeanor made the place seem less frightening and more a place of history and heritage to be respected and experienced. Honestly, this isn't the usual scary tour to give you chills; it's more contemplative and thought provoking. I'm a big fan of ghost stories, and this definitely has plenty, but I found myself pondering the history of the location and even the spirituality more than being scared. I highly recommend visiting.

I am not rating the land itself. I’m rating the customer experience with Lake Shawnee. I was unable to get ahold of anyone to set up a time to visit the park. I first was told that the answering machine was full and it hung up. That happened several times over the course of a week. I then finally got a different message that said to text the number. I did and never heard back. I also tried contacting the owner on Facebook with no luck. I wanted to see the park so I drove by the park. There is fencing around it and it says that it’s monitored by cameras, but I didn’t see any. It is an interesting park but it needs a new owner or upgraded customer service avenues.

Our guide, Chris, was so kind and informative. You can tell he has a real passion for telling others about the history of the land. I love visiting historical sites and taking guided tours but it's often difficult with young children. Many …

Yes have to call the owners and set up the time you would like to come.
Between 10 or 20 dollars cant remember they do tours all year round call them ..you can book overnight too ..They do every weekend events every October..
Pretty sure they arent doing anything this year. It was locked up and grass/weeds were grown up when I went by there yesterday.
I'm not sure, you should ask the owner. Though, as an educated guess I don't think he would like you digging on the tourist attraction on account of it being on top of a Native american Burial ground
You need to go and experience the guided tour
You have to call and set up your tour and we paid $30 a person. It was worth every penny and after the tour you can walk around by yourself.
You must contact the owner since it is private property and gated. Even if it's for you to stop by, call ahead and ask.
Yes. Contact the number on here and they'll set you up for a tour! They set us up on 1 days notice! My pictures are on here.
Not any more it was abandoned years ago
You can go to the lake Shawnee website for contact info. The Halloween haunted things coming up in October its awesome.
Yes day tour and all night, he tells you some history and then your on your own to explore
Everything is outside,so I don't see why you can't. Although, I don't know the actual answer 😳
It should be open for tours this month.
I'd say that's about right. It's not a large area to cover but very interesting!
We paid $30 a piece for the day tour. The owner said it is $75 a person to stay over night. We got some evps in the daytime and a few photos.
I believe it was $75 per person
How far are you willing to travel?
I doubt it will be an active amusement park again. The settlers name was Clay. Ezikal, Tabitha, and I can't remember the 3rd who died in the massacre.
If you read about the history of the place or take the tour, you will know a lot more than what is in books or online.
Yes it is.
About $80 per person for an overnight stay. Awesome place, full of history. Got a lot of evidence.
I just went to this you can't get in only can see it from the road it was day time but still very creepy.
