You guys... this place is MAGIC! Seriously!! Be aware there’s 2 ways to get here.... Verdi exit and also north by Bordertown. I highly suggest the Verdi route.... and you absolutely need a higher clearance vehicle. BUMPS ahead! Beautiful views, such a fun experience. Bring snacks and your childhood love for dirt :) FYI- I had perfect reception with ATT and Sprint the whole route.

Can be a bit difficult to get there if you don't have a 4wheel drive vehicle, but it's absolutely stunning! Quartz every where, it looks like snow! We found beautiful quartz and quartz crystals. The drive up there is gorgeous too!

It is free. And you can take up to a 5 gallon bucket of material home with you. Its a fun adventure! Enjoy! *If you bring your dog, make sure he wears dog booties or protective shoes, the crystal shards on the ground could cut up their feet.
Yes. There is a limit of one five-gallon bucket per vehicle per week. The sign at the entrance states this posted by United States Forest Service.
Mostly quartz but you can find little crystal points if you are patient.
I had a 2wheeldrive pickup truck. It made it just fine. It is extremely rocky in places. Just make sure u have good tires and a spare just in case.
Yes, lots, some of it opened, went through last Friday. Beautiful area.
Nothing. The crystal's are out in the open. A small hand shovel might help
