Getting in contact with this place about anything is almost impossible. I had issues paying the rent on the Zego app (which is apparently what they use to have residents pay rent) and I’ve contacted them about this issue. I had the money in my account and yet the Zego app rejected my payment method and I’ve tried to inform every single contact I’ve had getting this apartment about this issue and no one has contacted me. I go to see if there’s any changes on the resident portal and now they’re charging me a $200 late fee when I literally told them I had the money and I could give them a money order almost immediately after the issue with the Zego app. This is insanely unprofessional, and I can’t go to the leasing office to speak to anyone because there is no leasing office at this location apparently and I don’t know if there’s one in general.

I was told to keep checking on their website until the unit I wanna it becomes available, and when it does to go ahead and apply plus pay the $25 fee per person. After a couple of months finally there was a unit available, for 10/06/21. I did mine and my wife’s $50. Guess what ? They never returned my emails or phone calls. I have tried to get in touch with them for over than 3 weeks. No response. NOT A YES OR NO as an answer. Bad business practices. They just want the application fee that’s all. Don’t go here. It is not IN VAIN, they have all this bad reviews every where. Hopefully doesn’t become a case of IDENTITY THEFT since they have ALL our personal information now. GO ELSEWHERE!

DO not live there, the location is the only thing good about this place. It is very old, not good at all. Management very bad and do not care (specially Randy), a lot of ants inside the apartment, even mouses. and I saw a black snake in the garden.

I experienced a very difficult time making contact with the property leasing agent (Kevin/no leasing office on site/several emails & voice messages left), I contacted the company and spoke with an employee based out of Orlando who assisted me. After the 4th attempt I was contacted by the said leasing agent via email, I toured the property with the agent and proceeded with the leasing processes a few days later . Kevin stated the unit would be ready for move in June 12, 2020 and that he would be in contact with move-in instructions. June 11, 2020 (1 day before move-in) I left 2 voice messages and received no return call , I again contacted the Orlando office and spoke with Jaclyn who contacted Kevin, Kevin responded on June 11, 2020 at 5:26pm by text and stated he would meet me on site the day of move-in (June 12, 2020) but did not state a time. I replied to his text and asked what time would he meet me, he never replied to my question. The following day at 9:01am (day of move-in) he advised via text he would meet me at 3pm. I asked Kevin to call me which he did , I told Kevin that 3pm was rediculues to start a move-in (who starts a move-in at 3pm ????) He advised he had several properties to perform move-ins for and that my unit was being painted. I told kevin that a afternoon move-in was very unprofessional , 3pm in the heat of the day and in Tampa, FL during the rainy season and heavy traffic was a clear indication that I did not matter or the apartment was NOT ready for delivery due to it being painted. This conversation took place on the day of move-in , Kevin never advised of painting issues or a late delivery time prior to the day of move-in. This unit was not ready but he still choose to attempt a lease for it. Allowing someone to move into an approx. 650sq ft. unit the day that painting work was being performed poses many health risk as well as possible damage to property. Kevin advised me that the unit was being prepared based on company standards , I can only hope McKinley Properties standards are higher than this. I rejected the unit based on the said issues and currently in a legal process to recover my move-in expenses. This was the worst rental experience I have ever had and I have lived in apartments for 20 years in the Tampa area with 0 issues, I also have never had painting performed the day of move-in. Great complex but the lack of professionalism, standards, and poor communication from Kevin makes it horrible. Moving is stressful enough without being treated in this manner and not delivering my apartment in a safe/agreed condition makes it even worse ....Kevin is Incompetent in his job and unprofessional toward customers, and I have paid the price for that. Never will Mckinley Properties get my business and I will urge anyone to steer clear of this company. Imagine these issues on move-in day, what a way to treat people. Now, to find a place to live with my Uhaul rental truck packed and its the week-end ---unreal ! The BBB and a few more agencies will be getting a complaint regarding this.

Questions & Answers

Is there an intercom system or do they just give the code for the door so it is no longer a secure complex?

There is a gate code, so we recommend residents to open the gate for their guests instead of giving out the code.

How do you contact a resident when there? Intercom/buzzer etc?

We recommend you call the resident and ask how they prefer to be reached.
