We are so incredibly thankful to the vets at Blue Ridge Vets. They were so kind and compassionate with the needs of our dog and we were able to visit while a patient at the hospital for close to a week. The vets were frank about the prognosis and communicated often about what they needed to do. They saved my dogs life and I couldn’t be more thankful

We took our dog here for an emergency visit on a holiday weekend, even though we're not one of their regular clients and had never been there before. They were so accommodating with getting him in quickly and on short-notice, and saw us as soon as we arrived. They fixed him up and followed up with us the next day to see how he was feeling. The doctor and all of the staff were so friendly and professional, we would definitely take our pets here for regular vet visits if we lived closer, and cannot recommend them highly enough.

I’ve been a client of Blue Ridge for many years. I believe it has changed ownership several times. In the past two years I have seen a significant difference in that they simply have taken on too many clients to service them properly. You can never get an appointment unless it is two weeks out. I don’t know how you plan for a dogs illness two weeks in advance. Alternatively, you can drop off your dog for 49 extra dollars or you can call it an emergency and your dog will be seen that day and it will cost an extra $200. This just seems like a scheme to me for them to make more money because of their lack of efficiency and adequate staffing. To get a renewal of a medication, it takes 48 hours. While my dog suffers theycan’t figure out How to get a prescription written in a timely fashion. We will be changing the areas and hope to find one who cares more about the animals and less about the almighty dollar

I made my first appointment with Blue Ridge Grooming for 9:00am today, I would assume that this is one of the first appointments of the day. I dropped my dog off at 9:20am (due to a school bus accident blocking the roadway). I was advised when I made the appointment that it would take a couple of hours to complete the grooming of my dog. I took it upon myself to just wait in the parking lot for my dog to be groomed since it was going to be a couple of hours. Some four hours later I was still waiting in the parking lot with no response from the personnel at Blue Ridge. When I requested an update on the progress and a completion time of the grooming, I was advised that it would be just a short period of time. At 2:30pm I again inquired as to when my dog would be ready and why it is taking so long to complete the grooming since I had an appointment, I was advised that they have all of their dogs scheduled for the morning to receive their bathing at the same time and the ones that dry first are then groomed. At 3:10pm I advised the lady at the front desk that I just wanted to pick up my dog in whatever condition she was in, finish or not, I thought five hours and forty minutes was long enough to groom one small dog. My normal groomer has provided grooming services for both of my dogs at the same time and that only took four hours. Another frustrating situation was attempting to call into the facility, the automated voice recorded message advises you to text them at a designated number, when I did that I received an automated reply indicated to call them, the message seems to contradict the voice message. Communication between the groomer , who appears to be an independent contractor and not an employee of Blue Ridge, is very lacking. When I inquired of the lady at the front desk on a completion time frame she advised me that the groomer was on the table and she could not provide me with that information. The grooming services need to be prioritize better, the first dogs in should be taken care of before other pets with later appointments, just better customer service. The management of the services provided, communication and the customer interaction needs some improvement. The grooming services seem to be fairly priced and if the customer interaction and management could improve, I would be more inclined to continue patronizing the business, however, at this point I do not believe I will continue as a customer, bad first impression.
