My partner and I went to Small Miracles Pet Rescue to adopt 2 kittens. We planned on getting two after we learned with our last cat that kittens tend to do better with a companion. When we got to Small Miracles, we were greeted by a nice older woman. She asked a few basic questions about what we were looking for. We told her kittens and the ones we saw online that we wanted to hopefully adopt. We handed them our application (we filled it and printed it out ahead of time) The woman took us upstairs where they kept all the cats. There were a few cats roaming freely and one that greeted us on the steps. I didn’t mind. They were pretty friendly. There were two rooms with cats in them. We found the ones we were looking to adopt and several other very cute and friendly ones. While we were petting the kittens, the owner a nice Blonde haired woman asked up about one of the questions on the application about having surrendered cats in the past. She clarified our reasoning for doing so and assured us it was to make sure that the cats went to a safe home. We were approved to get kittens afterwards. We were given all their paperwork, several cans of food and some toys. It was a pretty easy process. We were in and out of there in under an hour. Although it made me nervous, I appreciated the fact that she asked questions and sought out clarity. Apparently, most instances where people share that they have surrendered pets (especially on the last year or so) typically leads to an automatic denial of adoption. But the owner was kind enough to hear us out and approve us anyways. Anyways here are our now kitten babies, Garvey and Egypt. And a special thanks to Small Miracles for giving us a chance. They are adjusting well. 😊

This is a terrific organization! They care deeply about the animals, many of which are from kill centers elsewhere. The staff is devoted and engaged with and knowledgeable about all the dogs and cats in their care. Our rescue dog is the light of our lives. Thank you so much.

Love small miracles!! Absolutely fell in love with my cat Stitch when i saw his picture on pet finder. The adoption process went so smooth and they sent me home with all of his wet and dry food so i could easily transition him to different food. Wasn't sure how he would adapt to having a dog friend but they've grown so close in just a week. So happy i could open my home to him!!

Small miracles is a true blessing. The staff are passionate, thoughtful and kind. Kiki is the second kitten we've adopted. The animals are well looked after, by people who love what they do. Having read a negative review suggesting race, I felt the need to state our family, and the numerous families we've interacted with at the shelter have nothing but positive things to say. If we had a larger home, we'd certainly adopt here. This place saves animals...and we are so very grateful.

Typically applications that come in on the weekend are reviewed on mondays.. with notifications on m9nday or tuesday
They have cats of many colors available for adoption. You can check their petfinder page to find the pets currently available!
You can check petfinder, you can find it on their website. They have multiple kitten listings there.
I actually went there and filled out an application.
No
You can just show up to see the dogs during their regular hours. For a meet and greet after you have decided on a dog you would like to apply for you would set an appointment.
Haven't been in a long time. But my impression was that they would not. I suggest calling them
Ranges. Average $400
You can go to their website to see their hours. 😊
They have them listed on their website
I would call and ask. They get so many different cats in for adoption.
1 know you can adopt but not sure abt fostering. You may want to reach out to them
The cat carrier can be donated if it is still usable. Now opened food you should call first about that!
Small Miracles does amazing work. That is a good idea for the animals. I am in a camper and can't do that. We left Maryland. There hopefully are dog lovers out there able to help. Your organization is doing fabulous work. I e been there.
I'm not working here you have to apply for any animal. The shelter opens up after 11 am today.
Not sure if they do but you can call, but they have plenty of female cats and kittens.
not sure what they do
No
It probably would be a good idea and I think the answer is yes.
Just asked one of the staff for you. Fridays 11-3, Saturdays 11-4
Check their site
Open hours for animal selection are on the web site
I actually volunteer at the shelter and I can tell you we're getting a lot of new dogs Saturday. We try to post all of our adoptable dogs on Pet Finder. You can look there or come in the day after. Its always super busy the Sunday after a transport though, so don't wait!
I've checked a lot of rescue shelters, and Small Miracles has a lot less paperwork than most. Don't want commitment? Don't want to answer questions? Get a plant.
The people who work at this rescue are volunteers. Maybe if you offer to make things easier for them, or even help, while you are visiting the animals they are caring for and protecting, they would not be as rude to you. They were very nice to me.
