I took my dogs here several years ago, and so did my friend. First, let me start this 1 star review by saying I do trust and value the vets here. They are very knowledgeable. Although this is a more expensive vet. My review is about the grooming I experienced several years ago, and I hope it has changed since. The last time I took my chihuahua here to be groomed.. his stomach had blood on it and his private area was sliced. Ever since this encounter I stopped going. I'm not sure why I agreed to pay for the visit..but I was more just so worried about my dog. I picked him up and he was shaking and trembling. My dog has never been the same with grooming since. What was also inconvenient was you have to drop the dog off in the morning and pick the dog up in the afternoon. That doesn't work well with a dog who is nervous. When I called to ask to speak with someone, they said he must've moved during the process? When my friend took her schnauzer here for grooming, the groomer sliced his ear! He still has the scar. When she confronted them, they said he moved as well?? I've been taking my dogs to Happy Dog Grooming and have never had an issue with "the dogs moving too much". As I said, this was a while ago, and I just really hope things have changed here since my last visit.

Needed a vet after moving to the area. Thankful that a friend recommended Buckeyestown Veterinary Hospital. Office staff was very helpful. I was able to get my cat in for a nail trim a few days later. At previous vet, he incurred a "difficult cat fee". But the tech here at BVH didn't seen to have much trouble and charge was $22 LESS than I paid at old place. Unfortunately they are scheduling new patient appointments for 6-8 weeks out. However my dog and 2 cats don't have any urgent need to see a doctor so the delay doesn't affect us. I hope they recruit another veterinarian soon.

I went to this vet as it was recommended by a couple different people. Getting ahold of them from the beginning was an issue, but i tried to be patient as a lot of people are short staffed etc. i got an appointment and everything at the vet was fine. Staff was friendly and everything was great. Vet called me a couple days later telling me all the tests that were done came back good/no issues. She said the only one they don’t have back yet was a urinalysis and will call me when they do. About a month later, I call saying I hadn’t heard anything or gotten any calls or more info on my dogs urine test.. the receptionist checked and just said oh it’s not back yet.. (it had already been a month) so i said ok fine.. covid .. short staff, or places are behind etc.. but every time I’ve tried calling back since, I’ve gotten no answer. Today about a month and half since my visit.. i call.. still no answer. It’s super frustrating because it is a main issue my dog is having and we moved to another state since and the vets here are booking months out.. and i would really like to see what is going on without spending thousands of dollars at an emergency vet.. very frustrating that it’s almost been 2 months with no answer, no calls, and not even answering or returning my calls. Disappointed.

Brought my pet pig here for tusk trim. On the phone to set up the appointment, the receptionists were so sweet and helpful. Was very impressed with the facility - size, cleanliness, ease of parking and tons of thoughtful details. Restroom, very large waiting area with plenty of bench seating and a separate section for cats, separate entrance and exit doors, hardware at the front desk to attach a leash while you need your hands for papers or whatever else, a candle that when lit indicates someone is saying goodbye to their animal so people can be quieter and respectful… etc: so many little wonderful details. The vet tech (Hannah, I think?) was so kind and patient and clearly enjoyed her job. The vet (Dr. Cenera) was also so patient with my pig and took time to put him at ease. It was clear she had pig experience. She and her tech spent a lot of time making sure he was okay and doing other things like cleaning his ears, checking and cleaning his eye, and answering questions. The bill was extremely reasonable given the time spent and work done. I’m so happy to find a vet clinic that will work on my pig and I’d happily recommend them to anyone else looking for their pig.

Questions & Answers

Is Buckeystown Vet still participating with the program for free spaying/neutering of cats? We're concerned about a long-haired tortie feral kitty recently around our house, which I believe is a female. Also, there is a golden tabby male - ?
