7 Mile Hike , Rough Terrain definitely A Work Out . But Totally Worth It . The Nature around is beautiful. And Doing This Hike With Others is So Much Better ☺️. I loved Every Minute Of The 4hrs it took for this Walk 😅

After they finish expanding the parking this place will be perfect. My two small boys love seeing the animals, from gators, to hogs, to birds of all shapes and sizes, and everything in between!

The best Florida hiking I've found in the central Florida region. Some trail, some boardwalk. Can be mucky depending on rainfall. Parallels the St. John for a good portion of the trail. We've seen gators, aquatic birds and wild pigs. A lot of shade. We love it!

This is one of our favorite hikes in central Florida! We only planned on doing two miles but ended up doing the whole loop. Lots of wildlife to see and usually several locals on the trail willing to share stories! Highly recommend

There is a primitive campsite 3-4 miles in if you take a left at the start of the loop. I believe a permit is required but there is room for a few tents.
Yes it was open last month. It should be open since it hasn't really rained so the trail should be dry.

You may see some there, but Ocala national forest has the largest bear population in the state.
Water levels are quite low. I am there 3 times a week. There is no threat of being closed due to water levels anytime soon.
Like I suggested, Hike in, explore....I'm a Trail Walker, not boater......there is a dock at mile pt.2
YES, depending on water levels...BEST to hike the right side in 2mils an explore for future docking....
