Loved the pool, but the locker room lacks most of the amenities you need like towels and soap. And you also need to bring your own lock to use the locker. (Haven’t been to other pools in the neighborhood so not sure if this is normal)

The swimming community at Marie Reed is a joy. People are always willing to split the lane when it gets busy, so you can swim at your own pace. The pool is free for DC residents; that makes a big difference for someone like me who swims regularly for exercise. The pool hours are rather strange, so be sure to look ahead before leaving home. I’d love to see the pool open on Sundays too.

This is one of the best pools in DC, the location is great and not only is it clean, but the staff, with myriad personalities, are always kind and well organized. During the pandemic it was one of the pools where it felt safer as they followed their own protocols thoroughly.

Questions & Answers

Hello everyone do the pool open on Sunday if so what time I try calling no one's answering the phone

On the weekends the indoor pools open at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are expecting someone to answer the phone other than at Wilson's Aquatic Center, then do not hold your breath. There never seems to be anybody ever willing to answer any phones except for at Wilson Aquatic Center. They are the only ones that run a tight ship and do things exactly as they are supposed to be done. You would have to ask the director, Mr. Washington why that is. DPR has what is known as "Black pool" and "White pool" rules. 🌞Wilson Aquatic Center being the whitest of pools has the highest standards and they follow all of the rules. It truly is a well-run ship up there and you can expect someone to answer the phone and give you the right advice etc. The further you get away from the "Sun" the worse things get. So you can imagine how things are done on the other side of town East of the river especially. By time you get to somewhere like Eastern Market it just becomes frustrating and depressing.

Do you need an I’d to get in

Yes

Do they have a hot tub

Javier Stevens | Sep 8, 2020

No. But do you have a hot head manager that was transferred from William Rumsey pool because she hated criticism from not wanting to keep the bathrooms and the area clean, stocked properly, and from mold. Be very careful with her. If you criticize her for not wanting to do her job, or call and make a complaint against her with the head of the department, she will become extremely vindictive, start harassing you and anybody else complaining, and she will call the police, filing a false complaint on you. Then you have to end up with an apology from the department and a transfer for her where she should have been fired.
