Today, Dr. Jamie Mitchell and all of the staff at Norman Parathyroid Center took very good care of me during my parathyroid surgery. They informed and prepared me for this procedure which took all my anxiety away, making me calm for my surgery. My procedure went well and am feeling good. I am so blessed to have found such wonderful experienced medical professionals to help me with my medical needs. I would highly recommend going to this center.

SIMPLY THE BEST!!! If you are starting your journey researching the best place/Dr for your parathyroid surgery, look no more. The Norman Parathyroid Center is recognized to be the best world wide due to their efficiency, experience and excellent services. The office staff will assist you step by step in getting documentation, Ins and visits handled with ease and no stress. This center has thought of everything including their own app for any questions you could possibly have and a guide from beginning to end of surgery concerns and questions. The hospital staff was absolutely amazing!! Their care was genuine and I felt safe and confident in their abilities to take care of me and my needs. I was truly blessed to have my surgery here, but mostly to have Dr. Andrew Rhodes as my surgeon. I was not able to have a face to face consultation at his office due to living out of state, but knew after my phone consultation without a doubt he was the surgeon for me. During our phone consultation I had many questions regarding surgery and he was extremely patient and answered each question to my full understanding. It's been 5 weeks since my surgery and my incision is hardly noticeable. I have had several surgeries in the past and this is the first I did not have to have any pain medication. I only took ibuprofen for a couple of days. After my surgery we went to get a smoothie then to the hotel for a 3 hr nap. After awakening I felt great. I had no sore throat, normal voice and ready for a full dinner. This is the best surgery experience I have ever had. Truly thankful to Norman Parathyroid Center.

My experience with the Norman Parathyroid Center was amazing! From the moment I filled out the online request to become a patient I have received the best customer service ever. The entire staff at the center and hospital handled everything that I needed to make for a smooth and successful surgery. The Doctors experience and expertise are among the highest I’ve seen, I am so very thankful that I was referred to this center for my surgery.

My whole experience with the Norman Parathyroid Center was amazing from the beginning, dealing with the office staff, to the end having my surgery. I cannot say enough about how great the hospital staff was with me. I was really nervous and every single person that I had contact with was just so nice and reassuring. My mom was there with me and she kept saying how immaculate the hospital was and how the staff was amazing to her as well. Dr. Mitchell was so helpful and answered all my questions before surgery and even called me the night of surgery to check on me. If you need to have parathyroid surgery, this is where you want to have it. Thank you to everyone who was involved in my care. I am excited to see how much better I am going to feel after having this procedure!

It depends on your insurance. Call them. The staff at NPC can help you with that --they are super friendly & very quick to respond. Dr. Norman did my surgery on 3/29/16.
You should contact them directly and ask them this is just a review board.
Call them! These questions are not usually seen by anyone other than the general public.
No; intubation is part of general anesthesia. Parathyroid surgery (at least at Norman Parathyroid Center) is almost always light anesthesia with patients breathing on their own.
A few days as long as the thyroid isn't affected.
The advisors at the Norman Parathyroid Center are extremely helpful you have to fill out the questionnaire, the first step. Then they will call you ask questions. I was very happy with the service and I am going to be very grateful to all the staff and surgeons, truly amazing experience and I am doing so much better since then. Good luck and don't delay.
Send your labs to Norman. They will help you decide
Only one way to find out and they're the best! I had some doubts about whether or not I had a parathyroid tumor , even though I had symptoms. After the surgery I was relieved to find out that I did indeed have one and they removed it. Your parathyroid is supposed to be the size of a grain of rice. One of mine was definitely much larger! I would venture to say that the study you were referring to may not have noted symptoms related to a parathyroid tumor. Your best bet would be to contact the experts at the Norman parathyroid Center for any questions you have.
You should call them and ask them any questions you have. This is just a review board. I can tell you that I had a small thyroid nodule that they found and just went ahead and removed it for me while I was under having my parathyroid tumor removed. But I had made them aware that one had been found before I came to see them. So it's best for you to call them and let them know.
You will need to talk directly to the parathyroid center. They have probably seen most everything as they do about 1500 surgeries a year. My one gland was where it should be and the other down in the upper chest. They got it with no problem.
Hi Connie, thanks for reaching out to us. Please call us at (813) 972-0000 and we would be happy to go over these details with you.
You really should speak with them prior to the procedure. I am almost positive they will work something out to help reduce costs
It could happen...that's why at Norman Parathyroid they have a very accurate scan before the surgery.
I didn't know they used iodine. You should ask the clinic
On worries I had no problems .😁
sure
They are very very helpful You send in your labs Calcium parathy roid hormone and whatever else you have Look on website or call them
The great thing about Norman Parathyroid Center, in relation to insurance, is that every department that provides a service for the procedure (eg, radiology/imaging, anesthesia, lab, and physician groups, will individually check on what your insurance will cover...They even recommend that you contact each department in advance about this, to prevent surprises of any kind. I believe that all departments involved do, as Debbie indicated, accept Medicare assignment as payment in full....but I don't know whether there are any private carriers that they don't accept....Be sure, btw, to pin down what your particular carrier(s) project they will cover....The insurers can be stingy, but Norman Parathyroid Center is generous in the extreme in terms of preparation help and tremendous follow-up....My procedure went brilliantly, even though I am a slightly complicated case....
They do not accept Medicaid. Cash paying patients pay approx $13,000.00
The doctors schedule quickly as soon as they have the required tests & bloodwork for a diagnosis. I was scheduked within 3 weejs if my diagnosis. I had surgery on August 6, & flew back to PA on August 7. A wonderful , specialized team. They are the best from start to finish. Don't wait! I am so glad i had them do my surgery!
You will need to talk with the people at Norman. I assure you they'll be able to give you your best answer. I couldn't believe I would go to FL from PA but I did. Had two adenomas. Got the run around for 4 yrs here in PA. Even Pittsburgh didn't want to diagnose me. Norman gave me a diagnosis from labs, site unseen and were absolutely right.
It tells you on the web site if you look under becoming a patient. It will depend on your insurance but it does give a cash price. I didn't do my first operation there because I was afraid of the cost. That was a big mistake becouse I had to have it redone. I did it right the second time at Norman Parathiroid center.
Norman parathyroid center is unbelievable. Get no one elses opinion but theirs. They saved my life.
I went to Norman Parathyroid from PA for the reason that couldn't find anyone even in Pittsburgh that actually routinely does this surgery. I felt silly going all the way to Fl but it was worth it. I had two bad glands. One was down in my chest. Glad I had a Dr that knew what he was doing. 6 months later, I am fine. Actually went out for supper night of surgery and some sightseeing the next day then flew home. Glad I followed my gut feeling. Hope you are fine.
Some of my symptoms are: bone pain, fatigue, insomnia and irritability. Some people develop kidney stones and osteoporosis if it's not taken care of.
Calcium pills that they instruct you to get in the app for your phone ir tablet.
It is worth keeping up on your blood work. I was told by my PCP to monitor. I self referred and am thankful everyday that I did. I had two tumors and I feel so much better!
