I was a client of Benjy Pimtel and have come here 4 times. Honestly, I was so excited when I found this place and the first time I went, I was pleased with my hair color and mostly pleased with the cut (it wasn’t the best ever but it was good). The blowout was nice too. The second time, he had to redo the color while I was still there because he chose a color that was too light even though I told him I wanted the exact same color as last time. The third time, things went pretty smoothly even though he doesn’t seem to pay attention to the color that he chooses/take thorough notes because I had to remind him again. Nonetheless, I was happy with the color since it was right the first time. My 4th experience is the reason I will never go here again. First, Benjy canceled my appointment last minute (literally the afternoon before I was scheduled to go in) and then canceled the rescheduled appointment 2 days prior to going. I do understand things come up, but was not given any reason, just told he wouldn’t be in. So I tried one last time to book, and they fit me in this past Saturday. I walked in and had to wait about 15 minutes. Once I sat down, I got no apology for having to wait and no apology for being canceled on two times before which was just really surprising to me. So then we discuss the color and he again forgot it and proposes a level 7 to which I said no since we’ve discussed it so many times before…. Just really poor client etiquette. Then he had two other clients at the same time as me so he was running around frantic and it was the most unrelaxing salon experience I had. He offered me water and never brought it. He left me sitting at the wash area for an extended amount of time while he tended to his other client and then for my hair to dry he told me to go sit under the dryer (so odd to me! Never had that happen in my life - but his other clients were doing that too) and I laughed and said no I just want to dry one piece to check the color then I’m out of here. He quickly blew dry the one piece to check the color and then left as fast as he could to work with the other clients. Absolutely horrendous client experience. Price is the only reason to go to this place. I will not be going back.

If you like color, make an appointment with Linda! I've been told by countless hair stylists and colorists that they can't make my requests happen on my hair. But just look at what Linda did for me! The whole process was fun and relaxing 😊 - Linda's skills, experience, and knowledge turned an idea into a wonderful reality.

I love this salon for my own cuts and color. The atmosphere is fun and hip. The stylists are edgy and nice and really understand hair - true artistry. I took my 11 year old son for a cut and Blake did an AMAZING job! It's definitely my go-to spot in Culver City.
