My favorite place to adopt a pet, cats and dogs. The staff is always so very nice and most of them have been there for years. Great apportunity for volunteers and they are always happy to take donations for pets or facilities.

I hate leaving this review but this is one of the most unorganized organizations I've ever met. And the adopting coordinator - Linn is just awful. I called on August 5th to ask about Maggie (7 months lab/germand shepherd mix puppy). The person who answered was super nice and friendly. Told me that Maggie is still available and she would be more than happy to get more information and give it to their adoption coordinator - Linn, and I should expect a phone call from her by the end of the day. Around 7:30pm I still didn't get a phone call but I do understand that everyone is busy so I called one more time to just make sure they know I am very interested in adopting Maggie. After 8pm I got a phone call from Linn who, in a tone of the voice that clearly showed she is annoyed, told me "Maggie has already apt with other family on Sunday and besides that there are MANY other ppl ahead of me who asked about her". I wish I could leave a voicemsg here so you would know what kind of a tone she spoke... I politely thanked her and told her that if anything changes I would appreciate if she would let me know. And tbh I accepted that I will not get this puppy but I did texted Linn on Sunday just asking if the family decided to adopt Maggie, and I heard nothing. I called and left voicemail on the foundation phone nr as well as on Linn's phone nr, and got nothing on that day. Then next day I got a phone call from the Buddy Found (couldn't answer right away bc I was at work) but I literally called 2 min after they left me a voicemail, and they had no idea what I was talking about... Questions like "Who left you a voicemail? Someone from us? Are you sure?" And then I heard lady trying to find out who called me. Again she was very nice, told me that Maggie is still there and she is available for adoption. She took my information and told me she will give it to their adoption coordinator - Linn, and that Linn will be in touch with me soon. Well, that was 3 days ago and that lady didn't call me or email me at all... I just feel bad for the pets out there. How are they supposed to find families if this person doesn't contact them??? Also you can meet pets there only by appointment so I couldn't even drive there to find out about Maggie in person... I'm very disappointed with that foundation.

A wonderful place where cats and dogs are loved and cared for...no questions asked❣ Adopt don't shop..check out the many dogs ready to find a new forever home.

Go on in after 10 am
We only adopt out dogs and cats. Magnificent Mutts has rabbits sometimes
You should call the Buddy foundation and set up orientation you will go on three Mentor walks the first one the Mentor will walk with you and teach you the ropes...the second Walk The MENTOR will walk first and you will take the second half...the third Mentor session you will be in charge of the dog by yourself with Mentor supervision... Please call the Buddy foundation and set up your Mentor walks we could use the help this is the best rescue I have ever volunteered at
They take aggressive dogs. Whether a dog is aggressive towards people (sign of abuse) or other animals, there is always a good match for even the worst behaved dogs. They just need to find the right alpha.
Please call the shelter to make an appointment to see available dogs. We have a few puppies, but they do have appointments to be adopted. We have some other dogs under 1 year old.
Dear Julie, thank you for thinking of The Buddy Foundation but we really cannot use pillows. We are only taking towels at the moment.
Yes..they will be put to good use!
If you call the shelter during operating hours, we can have someone coordinate with you about it. We'd probably have you drop it off at the back door of the building (it's a good spot for unloading stuff and typically where volunteers unload stuff too).
Dear Tiffany, the Buddy Foundation does not do TNR
I haven't heard these things and the people I've met have been great. I wonder if it's because there have been problems with people returning dogs because they were "too much work." There was even a story of someone surrendering an animal and then sneaking in to try to steal it back. These innocent animals need a loving home and the staff cares enough to place animals in good homes, but that might ruffle some feathers if people are denied.
The Buddy Foundation is strictly dedicated to the rescue of stray, abused and abandoned animals. We do not take owner give ups. Perhaps Paws in Chicago might be of some assistance.
Sorry only cats and dogs..you should still go in and ask they should know a location for your rabbit.
Yes they do but they go really fast and they cost $100 each.
I think it's only cats and dogs they have in their.
I am not with the Buddy Foundation so I would try calling them. However, if you are on Facebook put up a picture with a description of his characteristics? Is he an agressive dog or difficult with children, men with beards, etc? Good luck. I feel for you.
You fill out an application on the dog or dogs you want. Also if you have a dog you should be your dog with you to see if any dog is compatible with your dog.
There is not much space there, the only thing they wanted to keep from my puppies is the leash. I was going to take it, and she said please let me keep them.
You have to be 18 or older! Applications can be taken online.
I'm not sure ,but you can try,,
Yes, they open at 4:00 pm
Sure! You're donation is appreciated!
We always need volunteers. We are a no-kill and non-profit, all the money we make from sales and donations go directly back into the shelter and the dogs.
Stop by
My wife's a volunteer and she says the dogs all have different temperaments and they take safety very seriously, sorry no party's
I just found a kitten in my bushes! It must be lost. Can I drop him/her off here?
You can turn her into the shelter but i suggest calling first.
They have a gift shop; dog and cat related that they sell items that are donated to help pay the vet bills and utilities. They always take donations of pet food blankets towels etc.
We do not have birds, sorry!
I have 2 8 mo. Old pups that I have to rehome. Are they too old?
