Amazing work of art! All recycled, The Watts Towers, Towers of Simon Rodia, or Nuestro Pueblo are a collection of 17 interconnected sculptural towers, architectural structures, and individual sculptural features and mosaics within the site of the artist's original residential property in Watts, Los Angeles.

Not typically the area of LA im frequenting, but this is a cool little spot right off the freeway, and has a good story outlined in the park.

The Watts Towers are under renovation, so I wasn't able to go inside the art center. I hope that next time I come back that it will be open.

Technically closed for updates, but you can still go and see the sculptures, which are funky and cool! Amazing that one guy did all that.

They always have current pictures up so you should always check. Places your planning on visiting when traveling
It's safe to go see the tower! Nobody is gonna rob you! ( you can get robbed in Beverly Hills) Stay prayed up and live your life!
He was a local resident who created the world famous Watts Towers out of bottles and broken ceramic pieces.
You will need to call the city of Watts. Sorry, I don't have the number.
It's just a tourist spot
Watts tower yes it's in California
It's not an art center, this sculpture has been around for many, many years, it was featured in the movie "Colors" in the 80's the actors were Robert Duvall, Sean Penn, and Maria Conchita Gonzales, I believe that's her name, it's about Different Gang's throughout Los Angeles at the time. Good movie.
It currently has fences up surrounding it so that you can't get right up on it but the park around it and what not is most definitely open
A gifted man wanted to bring beauty and art to America. An Italian immigrant who had a 💘 for his new home in the city of Watts ..
No one can go inside the fence unless with a guide because of how fragile the structure is. It's still visible from outside the fence though.
Yes ...unfortunately
When is the 100th year celebration that was suppose to happen?
I guess some type of light sitting on the ground facing up towards the towers but you would have to check the tower because when I was last there they were doing maintain on the tower and you really couldn't get close and the sides were covered as of 14 days ago it's still covered always check for latest photos
I was there about a month ago and part of it is blocked off, but you can still see most of it. Also, there's a guy that comes out and gives a tour that's about 15-20 minutes, really cool. The video they show inside shows footage of the guy building it too.
I don't know. Its off the beaten path, its a spot on a hidden treasures map of America that is displayed in the Denver International Airport, and they do guided tours daily, but I went three times and pretry well only saw local people milling about. Its a remarkable and spooky piece of art.
Hi there! No, the WTACC will not be open today. They'll open Saturday at 10:00am & the first tour will go out at 10:30am (last tour starts at 3:00pm). However, they only provide "perimeter tours" because of Restoration on the towers. So, although the art center is closed, you could still go visit the towers today & enjoy them from outside the gates! (A mega plus!) The gates do have literature, so you'll leave with some basic information. You can always visit wattstowers.org to watch a small film of Simon & his Towers. Hopefully this helped, happy holidays!
It's under reconstruction, that's why there's a fence around it. You can't go into the towers complex currently, but you can see it from the perimeter and visit the museum.
