New York has Central Park... San Francisco has Golden Gate Park... Well Sacramento being the capital city of California is fortunate to have "William Land Park" (a.k.a. Land Park). Owned and operated exclusively by the City of Sacramento, this 200+ acre park has served locals and tourists dating back to the late 1800's. It is situated in between I-5 and State Route 160 while major streets such as Land Park Dr., Sutterville Rd., Freeport Blvd., and 13th Ave. surround it. What makes this park a win-win is that in the several dozen times I have been here, it has never been crowded. You have more than enough ample space to relax by the man made lakes (where you can see ducks, swans, geese), go for a stroll or bike ride, enjoy a picnic (which include benches and BBQ pits), play frisbee, and enjoy the luscious landscaping that includes thousands of fresh flowers, shrubs, and willow trees. There is also a nice children's playground that includes monkey bars, swings, and slides. Parking is surprisingly easy to find on any given day and with the amount of trees here, this can provide a lot of shade on the hotter summer days. In addition to the leisure activities here, this park also includes a very generous golf course as well as three (3) soccer/rugby fields nearby. The park also offers basketball courts, a jogging path, six (6) softball fields, a wading pool, and a rock garden. One really big plus about this park is that it is within walking distance to the Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town, and Funderland (which offer carnival-type rides for young children). And best of all, public restrooms are located throughout the park as well as plenty of areas to dispose of your trash. For anyone that wishes to test their photography skills, this is definitely the park to do so. The lake also provides a beautiful scenic view that is great for engagement photos and other special occasions. I also feel that Sacramento has done a fair share of upkeep on this park to make it look welcoming for people that wish to visit on a regular basis. With that said and done, I am giving "William Land Park" a perfect five star rating.

Recently I visited park to find the pond full of the water lily blooms. I'd would not believe the beautiful and captivating scenery in front of my eyes if I was not there in person. Not sure when this pond started to have water lilies growing in it but it's a delightful surprise gem. If you have not seen this pond, then I highly recommend you come check it out before the blooms wither away. There are still more buds to bloom so maybe another month or so to view them at their fullest?

Unfortunately, there are not. Its a statement to the selfishness of that community. I wouldnt be mad at those rich which call the police at each sign of uneases, im sure they pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and have in no way inherited their unethical wealth. Play your music loud, make them uncomfortable. Half of the park is now dedicated to the spawn of those who inherited these homes. These people would rather the homeless die off than try in even the least bit to help them. Litter. F this area
Sorry No, Dogs are never allowed on any baseball in the United States at all.
I don't see why not!
Adult $23 kids $18. If you buy it ahead of time, it's a little bit cheaper
No charge to visit the park, parking is free, but can be very crowded.

U can walk around the park free, if you plan on going to the zoo or Funderland expect a fee. Zoo is a lil overpriced. Sometimes u can get deals on Groupon.
It's free. But the zoo and fairytale land are not free.
Fishing is definitely ALLOWED! U can even feed ducks with bread!! Dunno bout Fishing License required or not; haven't gone in a long time just for fishing...
It's either $5 or $6 to park inside the gate depending on if they changed the pricing. They have a debit machine now so you don't necessarily need cash. If your fishing your best bet is to drive all the way to the back til u cannot drive anymore and park there. Those trails will lead you to the best fishing spots out there. I caught a green sturgeon there and many stripers. Also if you're planning on being there after Sunset I would park my car outside of the gate cuz they close it and lock you in which happen to me one time. Have fun
Well that's a Great Question. I would like to say YES and NO. You could go to any spot without a reservation, but if has been reserved you could be asked to leave that spot. A lot of times.the put a reserved paper on the tables. This also can be tricky because. So people never show up, or people move the papers to make it convenient for them selves. Good Luck. IT'S a Great Park. Enjoy.
They only stock the ponds a couple times a year. I would call parks and rec. If it has been longer than a month since they stocked I wouldn't waste my time. The ponds are overfished within a week or 2.
