This hike was really amazing. Breathtaking views. Great family day trip. Be prepared to be tired out. Not for small children or elderly. If you are in shape, it's very worth it for the beautiful scenery at the top.

If you were looking for a challenge with a view, do this hike! It’s only about a half a mile long, but 850+ feet in elevation gain. It’s great for training and usually isn’t very busy except for on holiday weekends. The history is amazing to contemplate. Put this on your bucket list and do it at least once

Very beautiful, but brutal....This trail is no joke. It is very steep and the steps vary in height from 6 inches to almost 24 inches. If you are in poor to moderate shape you will have a very tough time making it to the top. Also i wouldn't …

It can be a lil tricky. It is at the far end of the parking area opposite the metal container. The trail itself is very clear
Yes it is. Also hard when passing other hikers if you have a super friendly 150 lb dog as I do. But pet friendly it is.
If you keep a steady walking pace 30 minutes to top.. Another 20 dow.. If you go past the top to the Dingy (cable car) house add 5 minutes.. Beyond Dingy to view of Juniata river add 15 more.. If going to Mill creek Quarry Vista view add 1 hour. If proceeding to Mill creek trail head access add about 2.5 hours more.. (9 mile total hike)
I believe it's on State Game lands so that would be a no.
There's a large pull off on the side of the road right before the entrance to the steps.
There is a history of the Steps on the trail club's website.
The Steps are on state game lands which prohibit camping.
