Fun 1.5 mile hike to the tunnel on broken, but safe pavement. Park in the gravel lot off of Tannery Road and take the path that veers uphill to the right. Like most reviews say, graffiti can be naughty and the hike is improved with a bike and flashlight.

I think you probably could, but I probably wouldn't. When I was there last week, there was a Subaru with a bashed in back windshield in the parking area. I'm sure people have camped there and been fine though.
