I grew up in North Miami. As a child I watched I 95 get built. I lived in 126 st and 1 ct My twin brother and I would walk to Sun Kist pool every day in the summer. It was very hot. We took beginners swimming , then the following summer advance beginners and so on until finally became Junior life guards. I lived at that pool during the summer. It was 10 cents to get in. Back then it was called Sun Kist pools. They had a low and a high diving board. I learned to dive. Back then a parent didn’t have to be with you. An eight old could pay their 10 cents and get in. It was great. By 13 I graduated from pools and we girls would hitch hike to Haul over Beach , Then I grew up , meant interesting people. Became an RN and also started racing sailboats in Biscayne Bay. Growing up in Miami was great in the fifties and sixties. Not so much now. But I’m for ever grateful to have had access to Sun Kist pools and the wonderful introduction to water. And ocean Forever grateful. Marsha

The staff is struggling with the lack of resources. The children's pool has been closed for more than a year and the adults has the perimeter recirculation system clogged and dirty. We had to wait for an hour because now they are opening at 1pm instead of noon. Very sad and disappointing.
