CALL BEFORE TRYING TO DONATE FURNITURE. We lugged our desk there before seeing a sign that says they are NOT accepting furniture except by pre approval via app. This in spite of their website saying they’re accepting furniture with no mention of pre-approval needed.

How fortunate to have this recycling and resale service here in Santa Cruz. Donated, used items in good condition can find new owners. Recycling items are easy to drop off. Well organized and clean.

Grey Bears do not pick up mattresses. They do not take any used mattresses, you can drop it off unless it is new/wrapped.

Grey Bears recycle good condition Plastic hangers now (sold in stores by the dozen). Wired hangers with paper gets recycled in the metal bins. All metal in good condition either gets used for the store or recycled in metal.

It is hard to tell how old this question was, But Grey Bears do carry wheelchairs, and they come and go very quickly. You might want to call and get transferred to Hardware/Medical to check.
As of 2 weeks ago, you could recycle Styrofoam and number 1 and 2 plastic only.
