Recommend you watch the video in the museum before touring the USS Constitution to understand the full history of the ship and it’s importance in American History. The museum asks for a donation for entrance, but you can tour the ship for free. Touring the ship was awesome. All the rigging is impressive. You can take steep steps down two floors below deck. Each staircase steeper than the last. Seeing how the seaman slept was pretty interesting. Loved the cannons too. Side note: Before touring the ship, you will need to go through security as it is manned by active duty service members.

Very beautiful! It's not very often you get to tour an large active duty naval ship & a WW2 naval ship! Very informative & loved the history. You do go through airport style screening to enter, its free to go.

We made a pitstop in Boston on our way to Maine and thought this would be an interesting attraction. We only ended up seeing the ship, but had a great time. There was no line so it was quick to get through security. And although it's listed as self-guided, there were several Naval crew there to answer any questions. A very cool piece of history in Boston.

First thing for foreigners in order not to be disappointed - bring your passport, as you cannot enter without it. Also have in mind there's airport style security when entering. The entry and tour presented by the guides are totally free and very informative, as well the information plaques around. It's amazing to see this beautiful ship still in water after 220+ years (built 1797). Count on around 1 hour for a memorable visit.

Parking on the official property is not allowed. But just outside of the security guard station there is city parking. Parking in the Navy Yard area is allowed and aggressively enforced by Boston Parking officials. Please read all of the local street parking signs. You are allowed up to 2 hours on one meter. Re-feeding the meter with your money beyond 2 hours is not allowed and you will get a ticket if you stay longer than 2 hours. The idea there was to give other people a chance to visit the Constitution as well. There are a handful of free spaces but they are also 2 hours. The closest garage is at: Nautica Parking Garage, it is the closest one to the exact location. The address is: 88 Constitution Road, Charlestown, MA 02129. The rate is $21.00 for around 2 hours. But go into the Gift Shop to get your ticket stamped and validated and then you will only pay just $10.00. This is based on up to a 2 hour visit. But they have other parking discounts if you stay longer. Have fun!
There is no charge but make sure to bring your ID for the security check point!
I built a model back in 1977 to 1983. All was left was the sails. Never finished. The build plans are possibly available through the navy since it's a still commissioned vessel.
The museum is free. I'm not sure about your other questions 😁
It is open...funded by donations
Like most federal worksite, it is closed on most federal holidays that involve family time. Please visit national park information website at: https://www.nps.gov/bost/learn/historyculture/cny.htm
You can enter for free but there is a suggested donation you should give if you are able
Sorry, I don’t know.
No. It is run through the National Park Service and partnered with the Navy.
Quite a bit
We are couple with 3 kids went for free for ship part. I think price it suggested donation. Just bring with you ID for security check up.
No...it never travels.
Yes, you can board the ship but you will only have access to the main deck. However, it's still work there visit!
Can not read your question
I'm not sure about the schedule but I believe the ship is sailed 2 times per month.
I suggest to take one of the parking garages and walk for visiting the ship.
No. Bring passport or drivers license to get access though. It's a secure area.
If you just want to see the museum you dont need a photo ID but if you want to go on the ship you will need a photo ID.
It's the original ship. It has been repaired, and a diesel engine was added, but the majority of it is original.
You don't have to have a reservation if it's during normal hours. If it's after normal hours, I would say to call the park board.
There are several parking garages near the USS Constitution Museum, including the Nautica Parking Garage, Constitution Center, and Flagship Wharf Garage. Discounted parking with a validation stamp from the Museum is available for the Nautica Parking Garage.
Yes, it's free. The museum asked for a donation. The ship was recently renovated and has now reopened to the public.
There are a few different phone numbers that can be used to contact USS Constitution (the Ship) depending on your reason for contacting them. The phone numbers for each division can be found on their website at: https://www.navy.mil/local/constitution/contact_us.asp. For those interested in the Museum, which is operated separately from the USS Constitution (the Ship), the phone number is 617-426-1812.
The Museum is closed on New Year's Day, Christmas, and Thanksgiving. The Ship, which is operated separately by the United States Navy, is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter and on Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day. For more information on planning a trip to the Museum and Ship, visit https://ussconstitutionmuseum.org/visit/plan/.
There is a restraunt on the grounds adjacent to the ship and many others within 10 minute walk
Yes, at the entrance there is a space dedicated to a parking lot ... but it is advisable to arrive in a public transport, not because of the parking but because of the complicated transportation in Boston
Free, no ticket or entry fee to museum or onto the ships, you do need to have valid ID. Donate what you want.
Not at the museum specifically but about two blocks away. Dont be duped into parking in the expensive marina lot. The museum one is underground parking.
Probably on line
Ship is open from 10-6 but closed on Mondays. Museum opens at 9.
You can find the form on their facebook page to download.
Artifacts, interactive displays and history of the USS Constitution. We're Aussies and found it extremely interesting. Again, another excellent site maintained and staffed by your National Parks employees.
