As far as Air Force bases go, Hanscom is one of the good ones. Great location, close-ish to Boston and tons of job opportunities. It has a BX and commissary, nice gym with plenty of equipment and classes, gas station, car wash, theater, MWR, hospital... For how small it is, it really has everything.

For such a small base it has lots of amenities--gym, movie theater, Base Exchange, grocery store, military clothing, the works! And, I've also enjoyed staying in base lodging I would enjoy going back again. The only negative is the massive amount of traffice in the morning and the aevening commute.

Probably have to go to Bedford, Ma, located next to the base. But if I were you I’d travel to Boston to get a more spectacular service. In fact if you can I’d go to Trinity Church on Copley Square. A really spectacular church.
