At first, under General Monteith's command, the base was very military family friendly. He made sure we all got to experience just how awesome military and civilian living could be. Family events that included everyone and made us feel a part of the whole. Constant communication via social media and in person and his door was always open. He even alternated the gates being open on holidays so everyone living there felt equal. Then he left and everything changed. Family events were cancelled. The side of the base where most of the officers lived was always priority, leaving the opposite side feeling like we were on the poor side of the tracks but paying more to live there. We had to drive around the base and back in order to go North because our gate was ALWAYS closed whenever there was a holiday and after 6. They raised the housing prices but never did anything to improve housing and things just deteriorated for anyone that wasn't important to the transition to Space Force. A Navy Veteran said it best when he stated, "too many leaders think their full time job was to make other people feel unimportant." Such a shame.

The best place to watch the sunset, with good drinks from the tiki bar. The views are memorizing and worth the drive every time. It my third time there and always feels as if it was the first time. If You're in the service or Veteran worth seeing this beautiful view. I also love the picnic areas, very cozy

Yes, both.
No, but you can use that to attain a base access ID card if you have a service connected disability.
They have the inn there but on space a. It's a quiet base. Not a lot of rooms but decent for passing through.
