Really cool graffiti palace of a skate park. Don't mind the homeless they are harmless if left alone. Just keep it moving and enjoy the views. A gem in NYC everyone should see at least once

New York Skate Series
Great park, great location. Difficult to navigate via maps, and can be a bit "suspect" day or night. Otherwise a safe place for all skaters/ handle-bar sports alike. NYC Parks Dept has been working to make improvements and are working with the local community and those who utilize the park.

Skatepark is awesome and beautiful view! Right under the freeway, make sure to bring your inhaler. A few people that were shooting up. Keep it moving while walking through.

There's a lot of syringes laying around and it is very sheltered from traffic (no one who isn't trying to be at the skate park can see you from paths or the street.) That's how you get all that street art -- no one is watching. It's always been safe to walk by for me, but I wouldn't advise being there late.
