One of the best camping place. Hands down. We spent 4 days there. Every campsite (at least in our loop, ~#10-#20) has plenty of area (can easily fit 2 of 8 person tent), so you got very good separation to your neighbors. In our 10 years camping, this is the best place to go. For Campers: 1. needs to bring the shower tent there as there is no shower place (or power outlet). 2. Route 31 is a little remote and phone signal is rare. However we got phone signal in our campsite, to our surprise. The activity we did there were camping, kayaking, hiking, fishing (got some sun fish and trout), and swimming. There are plenty of wild blue berries that can be added in your breakfast. I also can't recommend enough on the staff there. Our car was broken on the road, 10 min away from the park, in the first day. Local people (multiple locals, people live there are really, really kind) were very nice to help us move some equipment to our site in the night. In the next day, once we contact the park office, Renee (one of the staff) helped us contact a reliable tow service and garage (forget about AAA, the only thing they can do is left you hanging in the road and make false promise), helped us move our remaining equipment, and Tracy (another staff) drove me to nearby town (20 min away) to get our car when it gets fixed. Bottom line, if you ever need help, this park office is extremely helpful.

Great, secret gem! So wild and natural, and so many things to do! Hiking, Biking, Fishing and kayaking/canoeing, you will never get bored. The campsites are also great too! Again, great place!

Such a great park and campground! Tons to do and dog friendly. The lake and scenery is amazing and loads of hiking trails nearby. The park office has everything you would need for basic emergency camping stuff you may have forgotten. We are going again soon!

The Five Summers trail is a wide flat snowmobile trail. Good for at least 2 miles out and a 2 mile return.
Definitely not the store in Washington. I have hiked through many times never had service.
Not staffed 24 hours. Rangers are there during posted business hours.
Yes, you can pitch a tent here and they have some great sites, especially near the water. Some sites you can park at and pitch a tent there and some you park and then hike to the site. They even have some nice platform sites as well as paddle-in sites. It's a state park, so there is a fee. I believe they keep some sites open for walk-ins, but otherwise I recommend making reservations if you can.
I don't believe they have a dump station. There are toilets within the campground. You could confirm by calling NH State Parks.
There was some limited parking (8 cars?) just off 31 before the gate for "clemac trail" when I went several weeks back. Probably not for overnight but I'm not sure.
Most of the sites no problem. Some of the more remote sites could be an issue getting to
Yes you can! The gate will be closed and no staff will be there but I have read that it is open to the public year round.
May 20th to October 22. The park is unstaffed starting 10/23. Keep in mind the the gate is closed once the park is unstaffed but the actual park is accessible all year long.
