This is where I got my last medical compared your dog. Her was Lady. I'm just got out of surgery and I'm spine when it was time impound a doctor named Dr Atkins she does home euthanasia. It was the most wonderful experience I ever had. I will definitely go back TJ O'Connor for my next companion

I adopted two of the greatest dogs. TJO made it very easy. They do not charge much at all. I would highly recommend them if you're looking to love an abandoned pup.

Had heard great things about these guys, and even worked with a local friend to send some of our strays in to them. All were adopted out–which is awesome. Our favorite stray went missing and turned up, obviously starving (she was basically skin & bones). Figured TJO could help her. Brought her down. The staff refused to look at her (literally) and wouldn't examine her. They spend more time trying to "discredit me" (saying no cats ever came in from my house, even though I can literally prove otherwise) and trying to convince me that there is "no hope" for this cat and it would be "more humane" to put her to sleep (because it's getting cold outside) than to try and treat her and let her back out. When I wasn't buying any of that idiocy–they tried to coerce me into surrendering the cat to them with the promise that they would, "take care of her" after I left. AKA "put her to sleep when I step out the door." That was back in December (2018). I'm eternally grateful that they were such lazy humans; because of them, Spare Cat got to see Dr. Ricksgers (our regular vet) and is happy and healthy after being fed and receiving some antibiotics. She's still mostly feral, but can absolutely live inside with humans with no problem (she just doesn't like being pet.), she uses her letterbox like a champ, she can go for her regular vet visits with no problem, and she even plays with her toy mouse at night (when she thinks no one is around.) The lesson here is: don't take any animals you DON'T want put to sleep into TJO.

Different prices
150.00..which is a steal seeing how they get them up to date with shots and spay/neuter them. They also have a number of beautiful older cats worth checking out as well
Thomas J O'Connor Animal Care & Control is one of the best agencies in the area. Pit bull-like breeds are assessed as any other breed is: by their behavior. Only those deemed unsafe to adopt out (regardless of breed) are in danger of euthanasia.
You should have inquired. I don't think it's a " no kill shelter" but wouldn't they ha e putityp for adoption ?
Adoptable dogs are on their website, tjoconnoradoptioncenter.com.
Contact them. They can advise you on proper introductions.
Yes to all your questions. You do need to make an apt to see an animal.
I think they do, donations can be put on the tables outside the front entrance daily but call them if you want to be sure. Sorry for your loss!
Yes, absolutely.
They can always use clean bedding for the comfort of the shelter animals. Most shelters and Rescues in particular are Grateful for donations of these items.
I would call them at TJO and ask they are very kind and helpful people and if they can't they are likely to know who can.
They always need blankets, small medium and large sweaters. Hi Carolyn, nice seeing you after soooooooo long. Therese Napoli
I think start when you have 16
You would have to call and ask if they have any and what the cost would be.
The babies will need to be fed a commercial canine milk replacer. Be sure to use one specifically formulated for puppies, as cow's milk and other milk replacer can cause diarrhea. Puppies will need bottle or syringe feeding every few hours for several weeks. WebMD › pets › dogs › guide › caring-n... Newborn Puppy Care, Feeding, Vaccines, and More
If u r getting goverments help the r really cheap pitbull is half of the regular price
50 dollars
Depends on the dog but I believe it’s usually $250-$300. This covers all shots (vaccines, boosters) the dog may need before going home, as well as spaying or neutering, pain meds for post op pain if spayed or neutered, heart worm check and starting on heart worm pills, flea and tick medication, and perhaps others but that’s what I currently remember.
I haven't seen kittens, but they do have a lot of kittens among dogs, birds & guinea pigs. Go on their website at tjo and look for adopting a pet. There is a processing application that needs 2 b filled out & there is a trial period if interested 2 make sure u & the pet r going 2 b a great fit 4 each other & of course there is a fee. Let me tell u that it's so worth it, bcuz tjo really takes care of their sheltered companions & our family ended up adopting our pet & we couldn't b an happier with our addition, thank you TJO!
i believe so. and prices very, how young our how old.
If you find a bat I'm your home and it was in a room with a pet, sleeping human, or person who cannot speak for themselves; it should be tested for rabies and you need to have the Animal Health Inspector involved. If you find a bat and those circumstances do not apply you can open your windows/ doors and let it out. If this happens more than once you should probably call a licensed pac agent to come out an access where they are coming in.
If at all possible Please take Your Dog to a No Kill Rescue such as North Brookfield Animal Rescue. A Google search can provide you with several similar places in your area.
Bryan, best to call them for adoption inquiries.
They have a table located outside the shelter where you can leave donated items.
Call them up.. Set up an appointment.. And it should run you 250.. At least for the dog i got and that's with everything the dog already had.. It had every shot and neutered
Best bet is calling first, so they know how to organize everything.
My dog is know older, but they sometimes have puppies an kittens

You have to call them.
You should contact Dakin
They do have cats and kittens available so please call them.
No only appt for certain pet they will bring it outside
Appt only to my knowledge
You can find places that will do it for free or 20$. Call around to a local Petco store and they have Veterinarian Van's that come and do 20$ fixing
Call them to make an appointment they are limiting the amount of people that go in and out also go to their website so you can look at what they have for cats that are available and compatible to your home and then you can call on them and make an appointment to meet them Good luck
Your best bet is to look on their website is updated almost daily so go to TJ O'Connor.com cottage Street in Springfield I'm just going to adoptions and then dogs and if you have any questions you can always call and they're more than happy to help you they're amazing down there.
Go to the adopt me part of the website or go to TJ O Connor find a Pup you may be interested in. Meet the pup then if you are interested speak to the staff and fill out the adoption paperwork and pay the fees.
Exactly what Linda said ..staff is great and very helpful.i have a dog and brought her with me so we could choose a second dog that would come into our family easily. Good Luck
It ranges from $100 up to $400 all depends on the animal
No they do all that at the shelter
If you can't handle being a dog owner surrender it! Don't beat the damn thing! OP be careful. According to the FBI there is a strong correlation between animal abusers and those who commit violent crimes against others, including spousal abuse. Definitely hope they are able to get this dog somewhere safe!
You can check out the available kittens online on their web site.

How much ade the fees foe a puppies?
Yes you can.
You can drop off donations when they're open .
If the animal isn't on the website then it was adopted. If you are referring to Tucker the puppy he was adopted a little over a week ago.
Yes they do. They used to have scheduled meetings about becoming a volunteer. Contact them. U as well 🐶🐕🐩🐱🐈❤
I believe that they will. Give them a call.
It’s mainly suggested to check out the website which will be up to date with who is available or to stop by and see in person which animals are there and you can set up a meet and greet - there is no receptionist, calls will be returned in the order they are received
Yes, they make weekly posts of found animals. Still recommend a trip there though to look at the animals there, as well as call them to make a lost pet report. Here's their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/413ANIMALS/
They are not a vet clinic. If looking for low cost spaying, look at Dakin or Second Chance.
U have to go personaly ther .
They pick up strays in the cities they serve: Chicopee Holyoke & Springfield. They have someone on call 24/7/365.
Call them or visit their site. Be sure to bring proof that your dog's rabies vaccine is current.
Yes they provide the Services that you inquired about and they also do microchip implants.
Tanya, TJO's not open every day, but the ACOs (animal control officers) are on call 24/7/365. They serve the cities of Chicopee, Holyoke, & Springfield. If you live elsewhere, you'd need to check with animal control in your city or town.
$250 for dogs over 6 months old. puppies are more, do not recall the price. may range from $350 - $500. I believe this weekend, there is a sale to find forever homes for all pets.
Monday, Tuesday Saturday 12-4 and Thursday 2-7. But this Saturday only August 18 they are open from 10-3
Suggest you call them or stop by.
On their website..... "Adult dogs are $250, and Puppies under 6 months are $300 . All dogs and cats have received all vaccinations appropriate to their age, are spayed/neutered and have a microchip implant. For Springfield residents dog adoptions will also include licensing for 1 year. Due to additional medical care occasionally we will need to increase the adoption fee of some animals to cover their medical expenses."
Only those who cannot be safely trained & placed with family would be euthanized. Even then, the staff & volunteers work with the animals to socialize them. A nursing cat or extremely skittish dog would likely be placed in a (temporary) foster home to minimize distressl, teach good behavior, & get a better idea is their personalities.
Felines over 6 months old are $90. Kittens under 6 months old are $150.
Suggest you call to ask.
When can I look at the kittens?
I don't know how much
They have monthly orientations for volunteers.
They are pretty good about updating their website to reflect the current adoptable dogs.
Thank you. Yvonne tota
They have volunteer orientation every few months.
there dogs all range from $250-$300 at most. I just adopted in December so those were the prices as of recent I did not see any dog above $300. Hope that helps
Adopt a older cat who is a lap cat
Call them and ask them
If you live in Holyoke, Chicopee, or Springfield TjoConnor should take your cat in.
I think so call them before u go
I'm sure we do, but check the website before you go to make sure.
I don’t think they currently do but they update their website with the new dogs whenever they become available so you should check the website often. Currently they have a bunch of really sweet pitbulls — I personally recommend Steve, such a cutie and sweetheart!
