These guys are absolutely amazing. Today I was at school (I'm a high school student) and my mom, was going to pick me up. She was on the interstate when her tire went out and didn't know who to call. She's also from Poland. Her phone was on the verge of dying. After she told me this she said she didn't want to call the police for help (only option I saw in that situation with the phone dying.) She didn't respond after that. Since I had no idea what to do I asked my school's counselor who was about to leave what to do. Two of my former teachers happened to come by as well. They did their very best to help. Eventually one of them encouraged me to call the police dept; I reluctantly did that so that they could help. In the middle of my call with dispatch my mom called me. This was while I wasn't speaking clearly. Somehow in the middle of all of the stress (I was very stressed) I was able to articulate that my mom had just called me and that I would call them back. My mom told me that someone helped her out and that she would be able to come soon!! I called the police department back and they connected me with dispatch. Then I told dispatch what happened. What happened is, this is what my mom told me after the fact, a DOTD truck saw my mother's car on radar (I think the guy told her this.) To her it literally appeared out of nowhere. She was absolutely shocked that they found her. At first she thought it was some kind of tow service or something, but she didn't care b/c she just wanted to get out of there. The very nice man who came out of the truck, helped her with installing her spare wheel. At the end when she asked how much she should pay, the man told her it was free. She was happily shocked. The people at DOTD are real heroes. They helped my mom and me out faster then the police could and were way more helpful. I'm really grateful for the people at DOTD. Also, we've had interactions with DOTD in the past. This was not our only one. We needed them to fix a drainage problem twice. They were always very courteous and professional. They treated my grandmother, who doesn't speak any English, very kindly when she wanted something from them (I don't know what) despite not knowing what in the world she wanted. Tldr: The people working at DOTD are hard working heroes. DOTD is a very professional agency and definitely deserves a "five star" rating! Thanks again!! UPDATE: almost 2 years ltr. 9/16/2022 same rating, just cleared up the wording a little so that it's nicer to read.

Has allowed the railroad problem on st Claude persist for decades. Allows companies to leave railroad cars in the middle of the street, blocking traffic on St Claude during peak travel hours for 5-10+ minutes on a daily basis. Refuses to put gates on the tracks, meaning trains blow their horn at all hours, including the middle of the night. Multiple individuals have died due to their negligence

Not very happy about the extended delays during the 70/Sunshine Bridge area road work. Flaggers are too busy looking down at their phones to pay any attention to what's around them. We waited for about 15 minutes, a dump truck went on through in front of us, but the flagger, stuck in his phone and with his back to us, didn't tell us whether we could follow or not.

I think so yes
You can find more information about projects on the DOTD site. Home - find projects in your area. If that doesn't work contact DOTD and ask for a contact for that district
For what purpose?
Call State farm...or, maybe call your optometrist; you may need to have your prescription updated.
What happened?
Probably not
