Lake Charlie has a great picnic area, but much of Tosohatchee is untouched. Wildlife can be seen as you hike through the swamp. Come prepared and enjoy the views!

We happened to go a few days after heavy rains, so very wet and muddy trails. But we appreciated natural Florida habitat. We did see numerous alligators and water fowl.

Drove out to the parking area on The St. John's and enjoyed all the wildlife and views. Very well maintained and peaceful. You don't need 4x4 to make it to the river at all, but higher clearance will be useful for the bumpy road.

Beautiful off the beaten path wildlife area. Well maintained roads. A real taste of old backcountry Florida. 18.6 mile loop trail. Lots of gators...

With WLM areas its hard to tell. Sometimes you can find out what district runs it and you can call to find out.
Leash and poop bags I don't see why not.... I seen a cat
Hunts are by "Quota Permit Only", there is an opening week (Monday-Thursday) in January and February for Hog Hunting, but it is not year round. You can find the dates on their brochure.
Where I go there's not a boat ramp but I've seen airboats go by with tourists. There's a boat ramp somewhere near
The trail gets muddy. Its hit or miss. Will your shoes get muddy....deffently. Soaked through is another story all together. It sounds like maybe you might enjoy the trail better during the dry season which generally starts around Oct
$4/person per day for a primitive site. Sites 1-3 are very close to parking and bathroom, 5-6 are a short hike
I take my dogs out there weekly. Just watch out for pygmys and moccasins
There is a fee $3 per person I think, but only with cash. Unless you have a wma permit bought through gooutdoorsfl which is $26?.50 for the whole year of any wma in FL. But otherwise it's cash.
If you have a bike you are comfortable on riding dirt roads, gravel, and grassy trails, then yes. There are no paved paths.
No. Vehicles must be street legal
All these answers are wrong. You can view a wma brochure on the fwc website for this and any other wma in Florida. YES YOU CAN HUNT HERE.. Check out the fwc website and look under quota permits for instructions on how to apply for a permit.
Its primitive camping. Not sure if there's room for a camper. Call them.
Yes, only $3.00. It's on the honor system. Sign in & pay at keiosk.
FOUND IT, in brochure, that was not in a link that googled, instead: https://myfwc.com/hunting/wma-brochures/northeast/tosohatchee/ IT may be open to hikers, but I'd avoid the park during the dog hunts of hogs... especially if you are walking your own dog! wild hog-dog January 11-13, 14-17 and February 8-10, 11-14. spring turkey March 16-18, 29-31 and April 12-14.
can you camp here out of hunting season if so what the cost.
Just keep in mind no trapping. But agree with Jennifer great place even go for a bike ride to decompress the stress. 3 bucks at the gate reminder to sign in and out for your own safety. Then enjoy a day in nature..
