Love this place! Always super clean, owners are very diligent and keep it that way. Always friendly people and pups alike. Great facilities on the way in/out to get dogs rinsed off etc. Bathroom/changing area always clean as well. Our newest pup LOVES the water so we'll be here often. Pics included for cuteness 😍

Very nice day at the beach, this park is a great dog park as well! There are showers to get the salt off (In our case rinse the dog off), the bathroom was almost clean but has a wait to use (In parking lot) it was a great day!

The beach is behind the dog park. My 14 year old pup has really never been to a dog park or off leash in a beach. This was a great time for him to play with the others, untethered. We came several times during our stay. It was even fun for us to watch all the dogs getting along and playing in the surf, digging in the sand and even swimming in the gulf. We did not experience owners not cleaning up after their pets. Beach was clean, comfortable and exciting.

This place was great for WELL BEHAVED pups! Clean and well marked where you can go and not go. My only 2 complaints is they need signs showing you how to get to the beach access from the park. And this is a off leash place, which is very nice for the dogs off leash but for timid dogs I would say don't go here.

Thanks for the info Anthony.
Don't listen to Joan. She's trying to keep them all to herself😂
It's a gradual deepening and there are sandbars so it's not like you step off the beach and it goes down five or six feet
There can be ... Mote Marine Lab tracks it ... go to their website to check the status.
Once in awhile you'll see one in the fenced area. But yes dogs are safe there.
Not overnight parking but they do have day parking for buses and motor homes.
Yup 7/2/21 is the scheduled reopen date
July 2nd
Thank you so much for answering my question do you have any idea when it will be reopened?
It's the same as it has been for the 15 years I've been here. There were always signs in the dunes but the City of Venice recently added additional signs on the beach.
You might have better luck on the east coast for that but it's a liability for any business to have an animal off leash. Beachfront hotel would be tough. They usually own a portion of the beachfront
The area i went was completely fenced in. They have an area for the big dogs and the little dogs
There's one called the salty dog real close by that allows dogs on the patio. :)
But that really doesn't stop people. It's all up to you . Are you a follower of rules.?? Then I guess the answer would be no. But if you not then a little wine not made obvious. As long as it's just a drink or two and I guess it would be up to you . I have also seen people bring a basket and a cooler and make a day of it. But have never seen anyone drunk.
I was just there yesterday and there was no smell of red tide whatsoever, no dead fish on the shore or anything. Plenty of dogs out playing as well.
There is a beach just south of the dog beach its beautiful
It has been clear for weeks now. We waited it out but have been going for the last week. It's been beautiful
Thank you for the feedback Linda Russo.
No go/ nova
The red tide jas been gone for awhile but i dont know if they picked up the dead fish
Havent been in over a month very little kill when we were there
The water is great!!! Just dead fish on shoreline,,,being reduced daily,,,will be there 2morow morning
It was on the news last night that we were showing in the "red"...that's the highest level 😔 I wouldn't take a chance with the puppies.
No breed restrictions. Check out Brohard Paw Park on Sarasota County website for all rules there, and other parks. The county is quite pet friendly. Agree with Paula Ramsey. Don't let your dog loose and roam down from the path to the beach. (From dog park to boardwalk/beach, jungle area to the left.) Alligator habitat.
No
Dogs would knock it over in a minute. They're there to run!
No, you don't have to show shot records to bring your dog to Brohard or Pinic Island Dog beaches
