Nice and clean city. We like to come here for fire festivals on commuter rail from Boston. Very convenient route destination. It takes just 1 hour and 15 min to get to Providence from South Station in Boston by train. Not to mentions that the entire weekend pass is only $10 per person. Overall the city is clean, has nice buildings and restaurants. There are not many people outside, not comparable with Boston, but during fire shows there are huge crowds. Of course there are some downsides, there are many junkies and homeless people in the downtown, but overall all the people are friendly.

A very small and easy to navigate station that has connectivity to the rest of Providence through RIPTA bus routes. This station was very clean, quite beautiful, and decent views from outside the station! Overall, it's a very nice station, with a Dunkin' branch should you need refreshments!

Tracks and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. Elevators are spacious and smooth. Staff is helpful. There are plenty of arrival/departure boards so you don't have to fight when it's busy to get close enough for a look. It would be nice to have a shaded/sheltered area on the outside (statehouse side) to wait for rides. Otherwise I find this station to be very pleasant.

A small neat hassle-free train station, that provides you with pretty much everything you’d need at a train station. There’s a nice cafe that serves pretty high quality snacks and beverages, vending machines with all the standard take-aways, and a small but pretty clean seating/waiting area. The best part of course is it’s location - it’s bang in the center of town, 5 mins walking distance from the state House and providence mall, and short 5-10 mins cab ride to any downtown spot.

Yes but not cheap. About $15 - 20 per day. That is not bad for downtown Providence
Less than $15.00 on the commuter rail, as high as $45.00 with Amtrak.
Get there early, parking in the small garage fills up early. If you are trying to find parking in a hurry and cost past the 5 hour limit isn't an issue, try Providence Place Mall right down the street.
In the train station parking garage. It is under the train station, & extremely convenient.
Amtrak.
I assume you're asking about Amtrak since that's the only train here where your ticket is for a specific train. If so the answer is yes - the times of the train when you made the booking IS the time adjusted for Daylight Savings. No need to compensate. Just show up at the time on the ticket - ideally 5 minutes before so you have time to get down to the platform to board. The time on the ticket is the scheduled departure time. If the train arrives before that, the train will leave right on time.
What do you mean where do you park your car they have parking in the back of the Providence train station downstairs and they have parking meters out in front of the station on the Statehouse side of the station and they have a parking garage at the Providence Place Mall it really depends on how long you're going to park the car far
They have luggage I'd tags for your stuff and yes they should be checked in they can't be over 50 pounds otherwise amtrak won't allow it from what I hear and u can bring 2 carry on luggage any other questions call amoral at providence station ask for the information desk
No it's not
The price depends on time of the day, demand and availability. Your best bet is to check the Amtrak.com website or download the Amtrak app and check the Acela ticket price for the day you need it. This is exactly how I planned all my trips and was able to budget accordingly. I hope this helps you!
Yes, there is an Avis car rental down the street.
In RI bus pass are 70 dollars
There are so many different places depends when as far if weekday or weekend
Absolutely
Long term as in a few days to a week? I believe so. I have parked there anywhere from 3 to 5 days while traveling to NYC. I would get there as early as possible because sometimes it fills up.
There are usually cabs outside from about the time the first train that arrives in Providence in the morning to at least 7pm.
There is baggage storage. It is not free, however. It costs $10 if you have a ticket for MBTA or Amtrak. $20 if not.
Yes but limited under the station. The earlier in the day the better.
The train has stops between Providence and Boston: S Attleboro, Attleboro, Mansfield, Sharon, Canton Junction, Rte 128 & Hyde Park before stopping at Ruggles, Back Bay then Boston.
It depends on where you want to go and the day of the week. There are more trains on week days than weekends.
It's fine security on duty
Go on the Amtrak website.
Plus Emterpeose says they will drive car to you when renting - fo it by phone
The parking lot is immediately in front of the train station under ground. I'm fairly sure that there is handicapped parking. There is an elevator that goes back to street level. The last time I parked there which was 2018 the cost was $15 per day.
$25 for 24 hours
Sorry guys but the parking garage at the station is $15 per day.
Take the Commuter Rail or Amtrak to Back Bay, walk to the Greenline T at Copley Square, make sure you take the outbound entrance next to the Citizens Bank on Boylston. Then take the D Outbound Greenline trolley to Longwood stop, you should be able to walk to Brigham and Women's from there.
Cats can ride Amtrak
If you're being dropped off then 10 or 20 minutes is fine. If you need parking, especially after 8am then 45 minutes in case you have to find parking elsewhere.
Nominal if you are taking train. There's a special spot for long term parking. I remember it was a surprisingly low fee
