Wow awesome little gem in winterpark. Had no clue it was back there. Very large and spacious park with a lake and some creeks and several flower gardens and sitting areas and trails to explore. Plenty to see and explore. Great for a variety of activities and pictures for photography settings. Did a maternity shoot here for my friend and we got a wide range of options to choose from for her to pose at. Very well kept and maintained grounds bursting with lots of animals birds and insect lovers rejoice. I saw many bird species I didn't typically see including some loon and some native solitary pollinators that you rarely see enjoying the flowers. There are several bird feeders and bird houses in the park as well. The park itself is very humid. So keep that in mind when you come here. I'm sure early in the morning before the heat of the day would be the best time to come as the summer months progress.

Absolutely love this park. Very natural and mostly well kept. I have been here well over 20 times now. I often walk my dog here or just enjoy nature. They have a few different areas. Spacious and peaceful. Often see birdwatchers and photographers here. I have seen rabbits, turtles, birds, butterflies, fish, etc. They have yearly plant sales and showings which feature some very unique plants. Volunteers help keep this park alive.

Very peaceful self guided tour. I visited early on a week day so there weren't many visitors. A good thing because I was able to truly enjoy the sights and sounds of nature undisturbed! Beautiful flower gardens. Nice variety of trees. Plenty of shaded areas with picnic tables or benches. A considerable amount of space between picnic tables so that families/groups can have privacy enjoying each other's company. Lawns are well manicured. Wetlands are well preserved. A few areas are under construction but nothing major that would hinder the experience! Public restrooms available. I highly recommend this as a stop for anyone who enjoys nature.

Such a beautiful place, we came for a stroll and had lunch at the picnic tables with cute-playful squirrels around, loved it!! Everything looks nice and well taken care of. I noticed they have one or 2 stages, I guess events here must be really beautiful and fun. Restrooms were very clean too.

I have lived in front of mead gardens dor 20 years.all 12 of my grandchildren have grown playing in the park.very safe
There are picnic tables near the entrance to the park.
Yes, much of the Gardens have brick paths in addition to the compact pebbles, rock and grass.
Yes bit the best thing to do is call the park. This way you know for sure. According to the website it depends on how many people are in your group. You might need to get a permit. Good luck.
Simply visit during operating hours---nice area to visit.
The Alfond Inn at Rollins College is close. It's nice and should be clean. There's also two other hotels up the street in Winter Park that are brand new. These are nearby and should also be clean: Hilton Garden Inn Winter Park and Spring Hill Suites by Marriott Winter Park.
Yes there is. They have a paved bike path to the right of the front entrance.
I didn't see a playground, but Ernie described it well. There were picnic tables and gardens.
There are plenty of restaurants around Winter Park, where Mead is located, and you can take your food in. There are some tables and beautiful spots for picnics. But there aren't any restaurants inside Mead Gardens itself.
Yes. Fishing is allowed there.
I believe so
It is an open butterfly garden.
The last we heard it was still going on but when we were there we didn't see many flowers yet.
I would think so but can't say for sure.
As far as I know, they are open all year round. Even January 1st.
