My fiance and I came here for our 4th anniversary and it was an AMAZING experience. Lubee is ONLY doing private tours and what you are doing and learning on these tours is definitely worth the price (which isn't a lot!) The staff here certainly know what they're doing for their animals' upmost care. They were knowledgeable and impressionable. Just absolutely wonderful! Will for sure be coming back for their Bat-Fest in October this year!

Great facility to visit for a private tour as a family or a school group. Be sure to schedule on line they are only open by private tour or a few public events during the year. Bat Fest in October is a must attend.

If you like animals and/or being educated about them in general or bats in particular YOU MUST VISIT! My wife and I did a private 2 hour tour as a Valentine's present to each other and had an amazing time. Alex was our guide and she was fantastic! The two hours flew by. We learned so much. We were able to get up close and personal with a variety of bat species. The enclosures are kept very clean; no visible droppings and no smell at all. Every bat was very chill. Some are curious and crawl in your direction, but not with an intimidating demeanor and slowly enough for you to back away. Others will crawl away if you get to close. (I say crawl but they're all hanging upside-down and traverse across the ceiling in a crawling manner.) We didn't see any fly. The environment is very calm and the bats just hand around unless there's food. They are all super adorable and are basically fuzzy puppies with wings. It's easy to tell this facility is managed by and staffed with knowledgeable people who are passionate about proper care of the bats and educating people about them. The entire facility is in good shape; you can tell it is meticulously maintained. I intend to become an annual donor, I had no idea how important bats are for the environment or how important it is to have places like Lubee to insure that bats can continue to be prolific. I hope to go back again soon.

Hi Andy, Pets are not permitted on property, as they can frighten the bats, causing them to take erratic flight, which could lead to injury or death. Thank you for understanding.
You can schedule a tour by contacting them. It was a tax deductible donation of $100 when I went 12/2018.
No. You cannot touch the bats. The males bathe in their own urine so you really wouldn't want to.
