This whole office needs to have a meeting and decide how they treat their clients what happened to inisent w until proven guilty in this office your guilty before you walk through the door 🚪. If I could I would get a better attorney but I can't ( paying to much for gas) so think of how you treat people their mom's love them!!!!!!

I would like to start off by saying Kathleen Leon was unhelpful and made little to no effort to communicate with me nor my husband. I understand public defenders are overwhelmed greatly by the cases they take on however, I wish she had a little more pride in her job she took on by going into law. However, if it wasn’t for Jacob Rubin this rating would most likely get one star or below. Jacob Rubin went above and beyond to make sure my husband was fairly heard and his case was quickly closed. Mr. Rubin took the time from his busy schedule to communicate effectively with myself and others to make sure we understood what was going on and figure out what we could do QUICKLY to get him home to his family. Mr. Rubin alone 5/5 stars would take him a million times again.

This is for Ryan Downing from the public defenders office I was charged with a battery with a deadly weapon that I did not commit I have lots of friends I have dealt with the public defenders office many times and have had a very bad experiences I have another post on here from my other email stating one of them but I had an amazing public defender he may not have been able to get it back to me right away but he always got back to me within a few days he kept me informed up-to-date and kept encouraging me that everything was gonna be OK by the end of the day I was proven not guilty Ryan Downey is amazing I don’t usually go out of my way to post positive stuff about people that are supposed to do their job that way put for him he stayed on top of things and if he had a snag he told me I just wish she would’ve been able to defend my son as well because the attorney my son got for the same case force him into a place he’s 19 now going to jail for two years for something he never did and the people that actually did harm anybody or walking free so I want to thank Ryan Downing you’re amazing and I appreciate the fact that you believed in me it made a lot of difference they need more lawyers like you

Justice is when the ones that represents you put themselves in your shoes, take the time to talk to you, and willing to work hard to give you the benefit of the doubt. Not treat you like a criminal, insult your intelligence, or push deals that keeps your case being swept under the rug. So they can deny you the right to be hard. While Fort Myers PD keep swamping the with minor offenses, because half the time they've nothing better to do. The stench of foulness coming from FMPD is so bad the Chief of police has to do an investigation. From my own experience, I seen this office help cops cover their tracks, meanwhile making sure my story wasn't even told when I was being racially profiled, and lied against by the FMPD. This is how African Americans are treated in their own communities. Smh #get it together
