Went on the hardest hike in 90 degree weather. Loved it, when you get high enough there was a breeze that helped keep the temperature cooler.

Beautiful, serene, sparsely crowded, best for small hikes and angling. North East entrance less crowded than south entrance and has a dam lookout point. Saw some beautiful birds as well.

There are many hiking trails, but no, they do not lead directly to Mt. Diablo.
There are two entrances to Los Vaqueros Reservoir. The one closest to Livermore is off Vasco rd. (9990 Los Vaqueros Rd, Byron, CA 94514) This is where the Marina is at, and the closest to the water for fishing. Going North on Vasco, after you pass through town, the speed limit changes to 50mph. The road will split into 2 lanes, then back to 1. Shortly after it turns back to 1 lane, there is a left turn lane that turns into Los Vaqueros. "Los Vaqueros Watershed and Marina" should lead you there in google maps. (If it tries to take you on Dagnino Rd, reroute - google tries to send people down a private dirt rd) The second entrance is on Walnut Blvd and leads to the dam. There is a .5+ mile fairly steep hike to get to the water near the dam.
Yes. $6 entry fee plus $5 per angler to fish. It costs a bit to fish but it is very well kept, has very clean bathrooms at the marina and has really good catfish, trout, and stripper fishing.
They do have, but not close to the lake
Also call ahead to check; last Sat they weren't renting bc it was too windy
No. No outside watercraft of any kind. No contact with water is allowed. No swimming, no feet in the water.
More than one location inside Los Vaqueros has shaded picnic area
Trout are being planted weekly.
There is a $6 parking fee, but no entrance fee. (you could walk or bike in free, or get dropped off) There is a $6 fishing permit per licensed angler (under 16 can share a fishing permit)
I believe there's no camping at all there
Unfortunately not, however you can rent boats there. They are 16 foot electic powered aluminum boats. $50 for five hours or $70 for any amout of time after five hours.
Yes, and an area with overhead cover.
Nov-Feb 7am-5pm, Mar 7am-6pm, Apr-Aug 6am-8pm, Sept 7am-7pm, Oct 7am-6pm. Closing means out of the park, past the gate.
No
Yeah you can get a license or a two-pole permit at the shop
