After doing a bit of research on the best and most affordable pet health care establishment around me I took my puppy to PetVet. Along with selling pet related merchandise, medicines and food, they offer affordable clinics and vaccinations for your pets. The El Cerrito clinic is open Friday and Saturday from 10am to 3pm, first come first serve. Go there early since the line starts way before that time. They have a small parking lot, so you may need to park in the plaza across from it or on the street. Once you go there you will need to go to the counter inside and they will have clipboards for you to fill out with your info and your pet's info. The form will have a number on it, remember that number since that is your number in line. If you are there to see a vet for an exam, they currently only have 30 sessions per day. Vaccinations have no limits. The wait times for clinics can take a few hours, vaccinations take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours before you are seen depending on how busy they are and what time you go there. I went in with my puppy a bit after 1:30pm and I didn't get called until about 2:30pm. They have a paper number board posted on the window by the entrance door where you can see what number they are on. The vet staff are friendly and helpful and generally know what they are doing. The tech that helped me was very nice, informative, and was very kind and attentive to my puppy. My puppy didn't even feel nervous getting his vaccine shot or de-wormer medicine. I also had my puppy microchipped and that needle was thick but the vet tech was so good and fast and made my puppy feel comfortable that he didn't even yelp or try to bite her. The total cost for the vaccination, de-wormer meds and microchip totaled to just $55.xx. I think if I went to a regular vet place I would be spending triple or quadruple that amount. I'll be back in a few weeks to get the next round of shots and will look to see what they have to sell too. Update 8/27/22: took the doggie to get rabies shot and waited almost 3 hours to get in, guess they were busy or short staffed. I took a picture of the services available and their prices.

Good fast service. They took care of my little guy.

Pet Vet is fantastic because I can get my cat's lifelong prescription dry food without a prescription. They have all the other regular pet store stuff -- regular food, toys, litter, etc. And the staff is knowledgeable and kind at both locations.

Great prices for vaccines but not a comfortable place to wait your turn, which can take upwards of an hour.

No just show up. I went yesterday and waited like 10 minutes.
Hello, Friday and Saturday, 9am 3pm
Yes they have individual tubes and packs of cat and dog flea meds
The store has a big variety to choose from. It is a high possibility that they do, but i suggest calling before hand and ask before driving out here and might not have it
Very good place to take your pet. Low costs vet care, very caring staff.
Usually 8weeks old for first set of shots, even if you are planning on making them inside only pets, I would recommend you to also get the vaccine for rabies, just in case they escape outside.
The veterinarian is available at the Richmond location on Fridays and Saturdays and at the Oakland location on Sundays and Mondays.
They don't provide that service.
You can get shots for dog or cat free on the 3rd of every month down by the Berkeley Animal Shelter in the parking lot rain or shine starting at 10am til I believe 1pm but you have to come stand in line at like 8am because it gets long and first come first serve they stop takin people right at1pm
How much are puppies first shots and what days are available?
