Newport AMERICAN LEGION. Right on the water. Amazing location. Fun, relaxing venue. Very busy on holidays, weekends. Parking is at a premium, but there's a trolly option. Great people. One of the best in the country.

This is a lovely venue right next to Newport Harbor. I used to come here as a child with my Dad, and it was just as nice as I remembered. Unfortunately, we were there for a celebration of life, but the staff was so nice and accommodating, it made the day easier. As we were leaving, a wedding party was assembling and it made us smile. There is a lovely deck on the Harborside, with a full menu and separate bar. Parking is at a premium as in most beach areas, but if you reserve this venue, you can also include parking. Probably the least expensive venue in Newport.

No other American Legion Post comes close to this one. On the water with it's own parking lot. You have to be a member or a guest of a member. They allow sons and daughters of military service members to join as well. And very good food at reasonable prices. Our party of had beers/cocktails and dinner for under $200 including tip.

I came to the American Legion in Newport Beach on Sunday as a guest of Dr. Mike Paquette. We actually paddleboarded from Lido Island to have breakfast here. The man checking us in was a complete gentleman and we were immediately seated outside with a wonderful view of the harbor. There were about eight items on the breakfast menu. I ordered the pancake special with bacon and scrambled eggs. Others in our group ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich the eggs benedict and the breakfast burrito and everyone thought their food was terrific! To summarize, this is a place with nice people, good food and a great organization!

Different posts adopt different programs, charities.
I believe if you are a member you can visit any American legion but, you don't have parking privileges. ( You must have your membership w/ you )
If you don't get there early enough there isn't any close.
If you sign up online you don't need any documents and it is only $25 www.legion.org Then pick any post and tell them you signed up online and want to transfer to that post.
The American Legion is open 365 days a year to our members or guest members from other posts.

They run out of the higher-end cuts of meat (ribeye, prime rib, etc.) pretty early.
