IHSS have been a blessing and I'm grateful for their existence. It's a fantastic rewarding program as being a caregiver is already stressful enough. I guess everyone have different interpretations of it, but in my opinion, the entire process is straightforward. They have an pdf brochure that list step by step instructions to become a provider. I'm not sure why people are frustrated with background and fingerprint fees, but the benefits outweighs the initial cost. This is a voluntary program and people should not take out their frustrations out on them. They are probably bombarded with applications and questions and the amount of workload and stress can burn anyone out.

There are fantastic dedicated staff members making it happen. There are also those that are not. If you can find a helpful person then getting things done is not bad. The trick is getting some one helpful.

All the negative reviews are correct and spot on. Huge waste of my time. I better get a refund for my live scan payment... Seriously....
Morgan Baier
Don’t work here if you want to get paid it will take them almost 2 months to pay you while throwing your through loops and every imaginable hassle possible, you set up direct deposit and they say it take another 30 days to get a direct deposit so after waiting almost 2 months to get paid you have to wait even longer for your check and hope it doesn’t get lost by Usps.

Can I get help with my day to day living , I'm will be 75 years old . Ron
For this, you would contact IHSS Payroll. They are a separate department. Their phone # is (916) 874-9805 Option 1 and Option 3 M-F 9am - 4 pm.
I need Ihss fax # for intake
Call IHSS Payroll at (916) 874-9805 (Option 1 and Option 3 between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm) . They will let you know that you need to write up an affidavit/letter/statement including your name, full SSN or Provider #, state what you need (i.e. pay stubs from March, Verification of Employment/Termination, etc) with clear instructions on how they can get you that information (i.e. mail to your home, fax to another agency/Department/Company) with address or fax number of whom to send it to, and you can mail it to IHSS Payroll 3700 Branch Center Rd, Ste B, Sacramento, CA 95827 (This is the whole county's mail suite, not an actual area or suite that the public can visit). It generally takes 3-5 business days to complete.
Call the registry
First what you need to do is get all in information from that person's Doctor saying what's going on with the person such as the disabilities if any and then you need to contact IHSS to start the process of the person and IHSS will give you a application to fill out, but with the Co-viod 19 going on, you want have to do any class with IHSS. You can either do the paperwork online or you can go bye the location to grab a application which suits you
Sorry, I don't know nor do i work for your payroll or human resources. I don't even know your pay days. I can't really answer your question.
Call 916-874-9805 and press option 1 for English and 3 for Payroll (not 4 for timesheets) between the hours of 9 am and 330 pm to speak to a live payroll rep.
If you are currently active in any of California's 58 Counties and now have a Sacramento County client, come to IHSS Public Authority M-F between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm with an SOC 846, SOC 426, Your UNEXPIRED government issued ID, your original SS CARD, and an SOC 426a "Recipient Designation of Provider" signed by your Sacramento County client. *** DUE TO COVID THE ABOVE INFO HAS CHANGED*** If you are active, send the 426A (Recipient Designation of Provider) signed by the client or their legally authorized representative directly to the payroll for the county in which the client resides.
IHSS is for all consumers who reside in the Sacramento County area and are approved by Medi -Cal and IHSS.
I am redy for work
Yes you can. All you're going to need is paperwork from her Dr. saying whatever is going on with your mom, such as her disabilities
In order to submit a W4 you would sent a physical copy (not a photo copy) to: IHSS Payroll PO BOX 269131 Sacramento, CA 95826
This is outside the purview of Public Authority. Call Payroll at (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 3 M-F 9 am to 4 pm.
Seven to ten days from the time you mailed time in.
I do not work there but you can Google their phone number bye entering IHSS of Sacramento county and there it will provide you the directions and the phone number as well have a great day
MS. Cooper, I know if you are a County employee, Yes you can. You can access the County ESS services and access yr account. However, if you are an IHSS employee, I apologize to you I can not give an honest answer.
Yes, call IHSS and they will do an eligibility intake. Max monthly hours are 283, and if your child is severe and needs 24/7 care for safety, apply for protective supervision, that will get you the max. Someone has to come to your home and take an assessment. IHSS wages are non taxable, but you must report them. Good luck.
Check with the COVID updates. Provider orientation signups have changed.
426A - Recipient Designation of Provider
Contact their case worker at IHHS: 916-874-9805 option 1 option 1. Ask to speak to the previous worker, or the previous workers supervisor. Sometimes they just have you write deceased on the time sheet, sometimes they require more paperwork. They will let you know what you need to do. Payroll may also let you know what to do: (916) 874-9805 Option 1 and Option 3.
Check with IHSS. Public Authority does not regulate IHSS Social Workers. Their contact number is (916) 874-9805, option 1 and option 3. You should probably ask for the supervisor and inform them that you haven't been contacted back by the social worker.
This is not within Public Authority's purview. You can check with IHSS. It's time alloted to IHSS clients for their provider to supervise them for various reasons. IHSS's contact # is (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 1.
Not really sure, you can always call and see how it works.
Providers are required to check in every 30 days. There is no set day for check-in, it just needs to be within 30 days from m the last check-in. New providers are constantly being added to the last as well, anywhere between 2-8 a month when their information is checked and cleared. If you have no names available you’ll probably want to give it about two weeks before requesting another list. Also, there are outside agencies; such as S.T.E.P., Gaston Communities Inc, Own My Own, to name a few.
Since they were your employers technically, it puts you in a bind, but if you think creatively, like asking the social worker they had or maybe a family member to write or sign a letter of reference for you, that may be as close as you can get. It may help to have a modest one typed up and ready in case they would rather you write it or they don't know what to say. The union or other workers in your situation may have other ideas as well.
Your employer is ultimately “your employer”. You are employed for wages by each recipient who hires you.
You would send it to your county. Sacramento County does not have information on Riverside County policies.
You can call IHSS at (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 1 between 9 am and 4 pm. If you’re on Medí-cal in Sacramento County , IHSS can evaluate you for services. You can employ any provider aged 12 or older who completes provider enrollment and passes the background screening. to
Shelly, you can contact the IHSS Public Authority Registry to request a list of providers willing to work in your area by sending the client’s name + case number to IHSS-PA-Recipient-Registry @SacCounty.net and request a provider list. It can take up to 5 business days to process the list.
Speak to payroll at (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 3. If there is availability they will let you know.
Yes, as long as you have completed all the requirements (fingerprinting, paperwork, ID & SS cards) and you have submitted the paperwork to the Public Authority office and the 426A Recipient Designation of Provider has been signed by the Recipient or their legally authorized representative, indicating your start date on line 10.
IHSS would be the people to speak with, not Public Authority. IHSS Can be reached at (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 1.
If you're calling IHSS Public Authority, you would leave a message and someone will contact you back. If you're calling payroll, their hours are M-F 9 am to 4 pm
Valid ca I'd or driver license and social security card
Check with the website. Info is updated due to COVID 19.
I can
I can work Iam ready for work
You would have to contact their County of Residence. If they have Medi-Cal in that county, you can apply for IHSS.
Just call them probably will be able to just start right away
Would you please provide me their contact number?
If you have more hours than one provider can or will handle then yes you may need another to pick up the slack....
This is outside of Public Authority's purview. That is a question for payroll. (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 3.
U just have to call the office here and let them know that you are moving. They will give you the address and phone number for the new office
Yes, just fill out the form and mail it to the address indicated on the form. Do not sent to Payroll or Public Authority. Forms can be picked up in the lobby, or you can set it up in the provider portal.
They are sent to the State of California's PO BOX, so short answer, no. But you should be enrolled online so they are submitted directly to the state.
Not sure talk to payroll.
To call IHSS: (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 1. Your provider Union is SEIU 2018. They should be able to let you know who your Union Rep is on their website and their contact info. seiu.org/members
Have the provider themself call to remove them, or have the client or their legally authorized representative call payroll at (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 3 and they can ask to remove the provider.
This is outside the purview of Public Authority. You would need to check with Department of Human Assistance or apply online at www.mybenefitscalwin.org.
Call IHSS Payroll at (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 3 M-F between 9-4.
No you don't have to have a patient. You can apply and go to orientation but if you have client , you need to obtain provider paperwork and finger prints ,and orientation. Few weeks process.
Call Payroll at (916) 874-9805 option 1 and option 3 to find your status and what you will need to do. You can call the payroll to find out its status and what to do.
Yes get a referral from her Dr. summit to IHSS case worker for IHSS.
If you are a new provider, you send to to IHSS Public Authority. 3700 Branch Center Rd, Suite A, Sacramento, CA 95827
Yes but there are also other programs that he would be eligible for as well
Don't know forsure but you should call one of the social workers they will tell you but Iam totally not sure. Sorry
Probably atleast 3-4 weeks once they send acknowledge ment of clients, than time sheets then approximately eight too ten days. Very slow but once you get going its good. Just sloww start.
No just get a client go to orientation. if its been awhile and your provider number is the same. That simple good luck.
3700 Branch Center Rd, Ste. A, Sacramento, CA 95827. We are the one story building with the Communications Towers on the roof, located on the corner of Goethe Branch Center. We are off Bradshaw & Highway 50. We are in Rosemont, not quite Rancho Cordova, we only have 1 location at this time.
Can I call to get my provers I'd number
You and your recipient have to sign up for it through https://www.etimesheets.ihss.ca.gov
You can call payroll to find out if you're missing something. (916) 874-9805 Option 1 for English and 3 for payroll. If it's a discrepancy in hours between yourself and the client, that is different and would have to be taken to small claims court.
How long does it take for them to call me back about the job to do caregiving
What if i did the orientation and the back ground check im just trying to get clients but thats my situation so would it be smart to go in or to call and let them know my sitiation?
I was told that ihhs takes state and local taxes they took mine for 5yrs
Who's this
Idk. If not, it would be a great idea.
She need to ask her social worker to transfer her case to that county and she must apply there
The Ombudsman for Trinity County. Any Medi-Cal or Social Services Office can get their contact info for you.
I don't think so. Your check is thru State and that should not effect. The shut down is with the Feds. I really don't work in that Dept. so I can not really say.
You'll learn that and other timesheet faq at the provider orientation, I believe it depends on the situation.
Try visiting the office during business hours
You should contact your HR dept. They will help you with that.
I'm sorry, I can not answer your question.
I am sorry, I can not give that information out.
Yes
The provider number is located at the top of every time sheet or check stub however if you haven't received one of those because you are new to the program then you're going to have to call IHSS and ask them what your number is what the number is
Call them
Call payroll
Without a client you can apply for the registry, or try applying for an outside agency to find you clients. (i.e. Strategies to empower people, on my own, etc...)
The IHSS program does not have holiday pay for providers.
No, you have to have a blue or white SS card issued by Social Security, and any Original, Unexpired. U.S. Government issued ID. You should be able to order online from SSA.Gov if you have a registered account, haven't moved, or changed your name, or go to a card office (Sacramento's is on Folsom Blvd). It generally takes about 5-7 days to receive it in the mail. If you are already working for a client with an approved case and there are hours available (no other provider has claimed the available hours), and you are able to pass the background check we can back pay your hours long as you attend the orientation after you receive your card have a signed (by your client) 426A "recipient designation of provider" form and your background check is complete.
Yes, effective September 15th's paycheck I believe.
Can be found at PubAuth.SacCounty.net Sac Sac County's orientations are Tue/Wed/Thurs mornings. Bring your original ID & SS card, and have an approved client. Have the client sign an SOC 426A (recipient designation of provider). Be there around 8 am, as it's first come first serve. Can last till around noon.
Call fraud, file a case, report it to the client's case worker
Fill out a new 426a form "recipient designation of provider". Be sure to include client's name, case #, and client's signature, or Power of Attorney, or parent if under 18. Have the provider complete their information in lines 3-9, and make sure there is a start date in 10. If the provider is already active in Sacramento County (if they were paid from IHSS for any recipient in the past year they are generally active, or have gone to the orientation recently if you are their first client) and walk it in, or mail it to 3700 Branch Center Rd Ste. A, Sacramento, CA 95827. If they are brand new and need orientation, have them attend Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 8:45 at the same location. Have them be there by 8 am with their ID & SS card (originals, not copies) and the form you completed for them.
Hey baby I’m right here☺️
IHSS or Public Authority? IHSS Public Authority is pubauth.saccounty.net
In the W4 form you would put the client's name as the employer in box 8, and their case # is the employer identification number. This is for Sacramento County only though, different counties have different requirements.
Whittney, it depends on what county. If you're working for a client residing in Sac County, your prints stay for now, as long as you're still working in that county, although that may change in the future if you become inactive. You do not need to print for each client persay, but if you pick up another client in another County, you *may* have to print for that county, Depends on that county's rules. Other counties may delete prints as soon as you're inactive.
Yes, either place will have them.
Can be downloaded from State of California's Website or picked up at the Public Authority office and mailed to Roseville. There is also a way in the electronic timesheets website to set up direct deposit.
Not that I am aware
