Sutter ER don’t even deserve one star. They’re worth negative star. I’ll never put my step at this hospital. Took my 6 month old to the ER because he had a significant appetite loss from last three days. Wait time was not too long for pediatric which is a good thing. But medical team in the ER have no idea how to deal with the pediatric case. They didn’t even bother to start the IV fluid despite of knowing that my baby is dehydrated. My wife who’s a nurse has to tell them to give an IV. Also I’ve to instruct them to check his respiratory system because he was gagging a lot and had to tell them to use suction to clean them. The respiratory surgeon comforted me by saying as if he is doing me a favor by performing a respiratory check on my baby. No parent has to able to advocate for their babies to perform the basic tests. After 3 hours of staying in the ER, they said they’re going to admit us which was fine and we waited, waited, and waited. Finally after another three hours the ER doctor came back saying our insurance is for a different hospital and they’re are going to refer us to Merci San Juan. Well, does it took you a total of six hours to figure out my you guys don’t take my insurance? Unbelievable!!! Finally we got transferred and I felt blessed that we don’t have to deal with them anymore but guess what?? The next day very first thing in the morning, someone from Admin called us and says we owe them 1200$ which is our Out of Pocket. At first I was upset as hell because it’s not even 24 hours that we left and you’re calling us for the bill. Why can’t you send the bill to my in my address and I’ll pay in the deadline. Do you think I’m going to runaway not paying your $1200. You’re freaking multi-million or billion dollar company and you called the parents within 24 hours to pay $1200. OMFG, all I want to say is don’t play with lives of the patients and their parents. You’re not taking all those money when you die.

My wife went to the ER with shortness of breath, dizziness, and a recent diagnosis of pulmonary embolism from a previous hospital stay. 3 hours to wait for a room, during which time she started coughing up blood into her mask. We told the lobby nurses this who didn’t care at all. When she finally got to a room the ER doctor didn’t listen to our concerns and didn’t care about her obvious pain. They tried to give her Tylenol for coughing up blood and a pulmonary embolism. Don’t come here.

This is the worst hospital and staff I’ve ever had to experience. My mother had a heart attack and was transported here. I can’t go back and see her because I am not vaccinated?! So if my mom passes away without me, the answer is that I should have gotten the vaccine? I even called to talk to one of the nurses to make sure I understood the people at the front correctly and her answer was “I’m not sure why you’re calling in this manner but we have a policy” and then hung up on me. I brought my mom here for help and we get treated like trash. Go ANYWHERE else!

I am pregnant and I have severe abdominal and back pain. I went to the ER today after being there yesterday, after doing my labs and getting an ultrasound I was sent to the waiting room with no pain medication or anything. After being in the waiting room for hours I asked if it was going to be any longer because I am pregnant, in pain and I had been at the hospital since 9 am (it was almost 2). The nurse told me that I had just gotten done with ultrasound and that I had to wait. The ultrasound was done 2 hours prior to me asking her which is what I explained. She then told me well that’s not a long time being that you are in an ER. So I left. I feel like I wasn’t taking seriously because people that came in after me with less serious conditions were seen and released while I had to wait for hours and practically beg for a Tylenol. I will NOT be coming back to this ER and I will be letting everyone know how poorly I was treated.

What is this er's 5150 policy? What hospitals do they work with

As someone who had a brother that this has happened to, I can say that 1) all ERs accept any health insurance (per local, state and federal law - they are required to do so) and 2) for the 5150, it is a 3-day mandatory hold or until a licensed psychologist clears them, which is charged to the individual's insurance, Sutter Health or otherwise.
