We always have a great time allowing our kids to express their creativity. I would honestly say that this place is geared towards ages 3-8. That doesn’t mean that we big kids can’t enjoy ourselves too. Once you are finished there is a free museum for Hallmark next door to explore which is pretty cool as well. Don’t forget to make your reservation online ahead of time

Such a creative, playful, fun experience with the kids! It was a must-do on our KC bucket list.

I love Kaleidoscope and have since I was a child, my child loves it too. I gave only 4 stars because the their "new decor/theme" is not nearly as fun and immersive as the old one. The stations are still there and are great creatively but a lot of the fun was the immersive and imaginative decor that is now mostly white with some color blocks and occasional smiley faces.

Our family had a great time doing the imaginative creativity for our son had a fun time didn't want to leave the facility at all. The staff customer service is phenomenal job. Also there is restrooms for the family. We are glad to bring home our son art project. You do you need to register at the website the best part it is free. Renovated for all ages learning new activities. There is even a chance to make your own puzzles by making your own artwork and the staff will do the puzzle pieces for you by the machine. Best part for toddler is the never ending magnet all different shapes and sizes. Our toddler is really into magnet of organizing items. Letting your children be there own personality shine.

Do Kaleidoscope make or have reservations for birthdays?

Akio Love | Sep 4, 2019
Kaleidoscope | Sep 4, 2019

If you have 15 or more people (children and adults) you must make a reservation. You are welcome to bring a group of children to Kaleidoscope to celebrate a birthday, but we do not have a party room for cake-eating or gift-opening. You may want to celebrate in the Crown Center area. Please call us at 816-274-8301 to make a reservation or if you have other questions. Thank you.

Thank you for your interest in visiting Kaleidoscope. Yes, we are open on Martin Luther King, Jr Day, January 20, 2020. Free creative art sessions begin at 9:45, 10:45, 11:45, 12:45, 1:45 and 2:45. Free tickets are available as early as 9:30 am. Groups of 15 or more must make a reservation.

When arriving is there a check-in? Do children go through in groups or is it entry on arrival? Also how long should we plan to be there and still get to try everything? Thank you as well for providing this free of charge! Pretty awsome of Hallmark!

Is this a good place to take a 2 year?

Alison Hart | Sep 3, 2020
Amanda Scott | Sep 3, 2020

I would say it depends on how comfortable they feel in a crowd and how willing you are to facilitate things. My 4 year old struggled a bit. There were stations that were meant to stay put together and he would keep markers in his hands when we left or not try out all the items in the station because he wasn't sure what to do. That could just be my kid though. It was tough getting him comfortable with exploring each station before going to the next one. It's up to you. I think it's more geared towards school aged kids.

Where you have to go and find a parking spot?

Kaleidoscope | Sep 4, 2019

Good morning, We recommend parking in the garage on the East side of Grand on the Blue Level. Once you’ve parked, enter to the right of the Security Office and take the elevator to the third floor. Turn left out of the elevator. Follow the signs and go down the steps toward the double doors leading outside. Kaleidoscope is located just ahead. We are happy to provide a validation slip for 3-hours of free parking. If you have any questions, please call us at 816-274-8301.

Kaleidoscope | Sep 4, 2018

Thank you for your question. Over the years we have experimented with our hours and asked for feedback from our guests. Currently, most families indicate our hours fit their needs during the week, and if they are a family with working parents unable to come during the week, our hours on Saturday allow them to visit and build memories with their children.
