I had the most frightening day of my life last week when my son, daughter and myself were arrested on a 24 hour hold by Clay County Sheriffs. I am 68 and had never been arrested before--in fact I had been an advocate for the police department. A search warrant found no drugs in our house which is what they were looking for. They did take our phones and computers so it has been hard to get help. We were locked out of our house as well. Don't tell me how fair you are. This was not necessary.

Slowest bonding process I've ever experienced . Been waiting for over an hr to post bond. I dont understand how other counties in MO and KS can take less than 30 min to get you in and out but the people here move like sloths and never give out any info. Just because it's not considered a place to go to and your forced to deal with the public. It's the same for the public. We're forced to deal with you! So why not make the process smoother instead of treating people like their time does not matter and have to be treated like a criminal for bailing someone out over traffic violations . Not robbery not murder not petty theft or assault. Traffic violations! So crazy how it costs people working in these places to treat you as a human being. Knowing my hard earned money (taxes) I work for and everyone else who Has to pay taxes to visit this place is partially responsible for how you get paid. Youd think there'd be some appreciation and consideration for our time.!

Clay county is a poorly built jail. There is no detention staff in the cell pods. They do not intervene when a fight breaks out in time to stop someone from getting hurt. I was placed on suicide watch (locked down for 24hrs at a time and not allowed to recreation or a shower for up to 4 days sometimes. Was laughed at by guards and inmates alike because we was in suicide smocks. It was demeaning and humiliating. We defend terrorists with more regard to their humanity than the staff at this detention center does.

If I'm from out of state and got tickets in So Clay County, Mo and my license got suspended, who do I call?

Did it happen in city or county? If city, go,to the city police dept. If county, go to the Dispatch and they will call in a deputy to take the report.
You can go online to inmatecanteen.com to use a card for a fee or you can take cash into the visitation lobby and put it into the kiosk. They no longer accept money orders. Instructions are next to the kiosk.

go up there and just ask at the office. I believe they charge for them now. I'm not completely sure on that
