We have been a resident for almost 20 years and the city itself is a fantastic place to live and rasie a family. When we moved here there were 35,000 residents, we know exceeed 100,000 which is a bit dissatisfying as it is starting to get congested and some elements that go along with a grwoing population come with it. One of the major issues we have with the city is the absurd rule of holding property owners responsible for sewer lateral lines that are not even on their property. We currently have a problem with a 5 foot piece of pipe that needs repaired but it is 9ft under the street (public property) yet they expect us to fork out around $20k to repair it. They did have a supervisor come out and at least take a look and confirm, he was awesome and explained the situation more in depth. This put unreasonable financial strain on property owners. We would recommed Lee's Summit to anyone as a great place to live but this particular issue with holding property owners responsible for something on public property yet the city governs and regulate said public property. It is ridiculous.

The workers here are fantastic. They are always helpful for any questions i have and if they don't know the answer they direct me to someone who does. They're really fast too.

Why does this have bad reviews? I came here a few years ago around 10am to pay my property taxes so that I could get my tags for a new car. I simply walked right in, & paid. Well, it didn’t quite go like that at first because I tried to pay with my debit card only for the lady to tell me it was cash only. Luckily there was an ATM around the corner. I was I able to come back in 10 minutes, park (parking is good btw) & pay. I walked out, went around the corner to the Lee’s Summit dmv & get my tags which also took less than 30 minutes. I’ll be back in a few weeks to renew! 🙌🏼

Idiotic brain dead woman in the cashier's office. Has no clue how to do her job and lacks the intelligence to learn even if she wanted too. She couldn't spell encyclopedia to save the life of everyone in her trailer park. Dumbest public servants on earth go else where

This is a good question. My personal experience is that those in the most need, elderly and health care workers are at the front. I have not heard anything more from people I know in those positions.
City hall is closed
They are open on Dec. 31st
