Not a good experience. Waited 4 hours for what I don't think was good advice. Then was given an invalid prescription. Then called I called a hundred times to get it fixed and my call was dropped each time. This place is supposed to be the best but I will never go back if I can help. So run down, couldn't even find an outlet that worked to charge my phone. The people were nice so they get 2 stars.

After hearing such great things about Bascom Palmer, I unfortunately had a horrible experience when I went for a standard cataracts surgery. Despite being young and healthy at the time of my surgery, the surgeon tore my lens and tried to cover it up by saying it was “perfect”. After the surgery she didn’t tell my husband anything had gone wrong or give him any instructions when he picked me up. The following day I had a sea of floaters and my eye color was and still is permanently changed due to the tear. My advice is research your doctor well and consider other options other than BP. I had surgery for my second eye done with a different doctor outside of Bascom Palmer and it went beautifully.

You are honestly better off going to a general ER for your care unless you want to wait 5+ hours just to be seen. I was in excruciating pain from a corneal abrasion and ended up leaving, after 5 hours in the waiting room, to go to a nearby urgent care. I was at a nearby urgent care for no more than 1 hour and was given the appropriate antibiotics. It's a shame that such a big name institution can't even organize an emergency room. Faculty were pleasant, but the wait time was far from pleasant. Have the residents see the "bread and butter cases" and the attendings see the more complex ones. I do not recommend this facility for your emergency eye care.

One of the worst run institutions I have ever had the misfortune of seeking medical advice at. There is no reason to make a person wait five hours to see a doctor. The total mismanagement of the department, despite having an appointment shows the total disregard for patients and their time. I will NEVER EVER go back to this facility. If you value your time you will do as other's have posted and avoid this place. I sat and rotted in the waiting area only to finally hail someone down to inform them that I was still in the waiting area 90 minutes after my apt. time and was barked at rudely by the only woman I could locate. NO One sits behind the desks there. There is simply no excuse for the way in which they manage their operation and endless tests that take a total of 40 minutes at any other doctors office. The refusal the read the posts, hear the negative feedback and find a more sensible way to manage which can only be described as a very expensive horrible experience that resembled a free clinic in an underserved community rather than a very expensive hospital hailing itself as one the "best". Sadly I could not even understand the Doctor when I finally met with her as her English was so poor. So sum up: 5 hours waiting time to have a ten minute consult with the actual doctor. I lost a day of my life that I can never get back.

Hello how much does a cataract operation cost what insurance that could possibly support the operation thank you
Most doctors in Bacon and the university accept ambetter sunshine. If you want to know the type of coverage call the insurance and ask about the benefits.
The Bascom Palmer has been and still is # 1 in the world for specialized eye treatment. If he has health insurance and you can call to make an appointment (or come to the emergency room on the second floor) he can be seen and started on the road to getting better and you can have peace of mind.
I live in New Orleans and my Medicare provider only insures surgery in Louisiana. Can you please give me estimate of the cost for cataract surgery on my right eye. Many thanks
Open 24/7
And
A nice place to go everyone there was kind friendly atmosphere fast service
Yes there is and also an emergency eye department.
Go to this website, it has a number you can call and a form to fill out to request an appointment. I wont say its impossible to get one in that short of notice, but thats very difficult. You can always go to their ER if it is that urgent, you'll be seen, it'll probably take a few hours. https://umiamihealth.org/bascom-palmer-eye-institute/appointment-options
If u have insurance, call them first and the insurance can give u referral authorization.
Why
You don't need to pay extra, there is a free parking lot just in the corner, 200 meters away
91 dollars
You have to call the hospital, they give you information
It is a hospital equipped with highly specialized equipment in the treatment of the eyes, and the staff in general is great. I am extremely confident in putting my eyes 👀 on his hands.
Hello, it is best that you see the specialist, I also have pressure and the neuro ophthalmologist gave me acetazolamide 500mg 1 in the morning and another at night.
Suggest you go to urgent care or call your health plan first.
You have to call the physicians administrative assistant (whoever that is) or call the appt line and ask for the number to the office to speak to his assistant. Mon-fri I doubt they are there weekends. If it's an emergency you can take her to the 2nd floor ER and they can check her eyes out and write her a prescription for the drops till you get in touch with the dr on monday.
All kinds of operations are excellent doctors and very good staff.
It depends on the specialist you will see. My suggestion would be to call the appointment line and consult with them
That question have been answered after examination steps end not before dear
Yes. Or go to emergency room.
My recommendation would be to visit Bascom Palmer Emergency room and go from there. Good luck
Call to the appointment line, they will help you to put you with the right specialist
Your insurance should cover your visit.
There is no specific price. You can call and ask for the price range.
Yes, on the 4th floor.
Yes
It will depend on the specialty and if the specialist requires exams, you will not know an exact amount until you see the doctor, the prices can start from 300 onwards by consultation with the doctor, without exams.
Everything will depend on the specialist who wants, call and communicate with the appointment area, there they can help you
Tu Be positive maybe financial
The emergency room is 24 hours, you can also call the direct line to make an appointment with the doctor to evaluate it.
I understand that yes, but I do not know the price.
Yes. I actually work in the lasik department. You can make an appointment for a free consultation on line.
It would be better to have one in person. But truthfully it depends on what kind of surgery you are looking for. You are not a candidate for LASIK with a +17. A clear lens exchange might be a option.
I do not know but you can verify by calling the appointment number or bypass this and go to the 2nd floor building (emergency department) and ask.
Your best bet is Valet parking for $9.00
I think all insurances are accepted in an emergency situation.
You have to call
Accepts state medicaid.
Please go to the second floor, there is Social services and they can help you.
Yes
You can make online at their website or call directly
Hi. Prices vary between 300 to 700 dollars depending on the level. For international patients a discount is given but you must call uhealth international department
Yes
Across the street on the corner a lot a restaurant.
Hi, I think the price is 5K dollars in total. You will have a preop visit with the provider and they will answer all questions.
And
Yes, of course, you can pay.
Yes, 24/7 second floor
They have emergencies 24 hours
Well if you do not have insurance you have to call there but to give you an idea just ask without insurance is between 300 to 500 dollars because you can imagine the surgery speak spanish let me give you the phone numbers and also it would be good if you visit clinics that do not they ask for insurance and they recommend you with ophthalmologists like the clinic the light of the world that is in the city of Oakland park Florida
Yes, but not Medicaid
Get the person's name & reference number . since some ins pay & some don't.
Hello, please I would like to know if you only accept Medicaid with Simply. I need an ophthalmologist to see me, I think I need meat surgery and I wish it was with their specialists. Thank you for assisting me.
