This is our go-to ski-hill from our desert home. In 90 minutes we can find decent quality skiing. And if we time our trip with a rainy day down the hills, some very good skiing! Good staff, well maintained hill and reasonable rates make this a great family stop.

Great SoCal community ski resort from beginners to advance skiers & snowboarders alike! There are nice parks and kickers if you want to challenge yourself getting some air. Lifts are quite fast. The location of the resort is more than 30 minutes closer than going to Big Bear area if you are coming from LA/SD area so you can come in and out with a lot less traffic. The lift ticket price is reasonable compared with other resort giant’s overinflated ticket prices. My suggestion is getting the Snow Jam membership and get half off a lift ticket and then free ticket for your next time up and repeat. Or attending the next Snow Jam to grab a discounted tickets package straight from Snow Valley booth. You won’t find a better deal than that around for single price ticket. The parking lot is huge and easily accessible with small fee of $10 on the weekends. Staffs are friendly and overall value is great. Thank you. Keep it up!! 2/2022

I was very surprised by the size and variety of terrain at Snow Valley! For a local mountain to the Los Angeles area Snow Valley has a lot to offer. Down at the bottom the are large lightly sloped well groomed runs for the beginners, in the middle of the mountain the are slightly steeper and narrower groomed runs for the intermediate skiers and boarders. But at the top and hidden away here and there are somewhat steep patches of ungroomed fun including tree skiing! The day I got there was right after a snow so for a short time we actually got in some power runs. The snow quality was excellent that day. The only drawback to the day was how often the lifts we stopping. I think there were a lot of beginning skiers having trouble getting off and on.

Thanks to the staff, everybody was awesome especially Stan!! He taught ME how to ski!!! I can’t wait to go again. I didn’t master getting off that ski lift but I’ll go back and get lessons again.

I would say no. Only so that the best kept secret snow spot on SoCal can stay a secret so I can enjoy it with less people on the mountain.
We're currently at holiday rates through January 3. Here's a link to our pricing: https://snow-valley.com/winter-lift-tickets/
Bobby is correct. You must use the resorts sleds if you want to use the lift serviced sledding hill. If their is natural snow, you can use your own sleds near by but not at the resort.
You need to buy your tickets online in advance.
There's is snow and yes they make it too every night
Yeah just head towards these resorts and pull off on the side of the rd will see other families doing as well don’t need to get ripped off to play in the snow
Yes. Plenty. I've skied it all week and yesterday. It will be open until Easter Sunday. Amazing how much snow is there. It's been very cold thankfully.
Yes. Ask a lifty- they had my glove I left on the chair. Or second story ticket window
I think so
Most likely just the main 2 lifts and the bunny lift. But it's best to call to find out exactly.
Negative, there is not snow there year round. However in March there is generally quite a bit of snow still
Snow Valley does not have tubing, although they do have sledding and snow play. Tubing is available on Hwy 18 about about 5 minutes from Snow Valley at Snow Drift tubing park.
Across the street from Snow Valley are cross country trails. I don't know the name or if they are open.
December 15, for the 2016-2018 year
Not for snowboarding/sking .... it should open in about a month for mountain biking.
Their is still a lot of snow on the ground for this weekend to ski, playing in the snow and sledding.
They have ticketed area for sledding. But if you are looking for bringing your own sleds and go down bunny slopes then NO. It's a private property. They do not allow it.
Yes up the hill a ways near the turn outs.
It's 75 to 80 bucks and it's from 4pm to 8 on Fri and sat
Yes they should. Also make sure to use every discount codes. So you can save more.

Minors must have a parent or guardian sign their rental release of liability.
Typically it's the end of March. But yes it also depends on the storms.
Have to have with you by law. But don't need them on at the moment
Snow is always there when they open but snow condition might not be in good condition.
No, unless you have some membership with them I think.
Cash or credit card. They do not accept Republic credits that are accepted throughout the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, and territories of the New Republic, Resistance and other non-aligned systems following the Empire's fall. May the force be with you.
Snow valley is gonna be open in new yearZ's day
And
Entrance to the parking lot is a separate cost of being able to use the Montana or the ski lifts.
No
Perhaps
They provided sleds for the sledding area
It should be The road is open as of now Wednesday 3/6/19 418am
On the very same day, Better notify them the road had no access. In that case, they would have a good snow or whatnot ?
It's closed due to road closure (Hwy 18).
The road is currently closed and we're awaiting an update from Caltrans as to its status. We'll be providing an update later today.
No
Their website ( https://snow-valley.com/snow-report/) says that you currently do not need chains. Given that's it's raining, I wouldn't go into the mountains without a set. Even if they're not required now, they might be required when you come home.
Yes today after 5 pm
Yes, but it can be applied to another purchase on the property.
You can park on the side of the road and walk into the woods. But best snow and lift access is not free.
I think the conditions should be good tomorrow, no rain or snow in forecast.
Yes, they will be open
Yes, you can visit. You'd need lift tickets if you plan on taking a ride. Big bear lake is close by, so you can do both
I've never needed chains to get there (but I carry them, just in case). You can see the road on the webcam in the website, and check if it is clear.
Should open in the next few days
Yes, there are areas on Highway 18 where you can park in a turnout and play in the snow and go sledding for free. There's a great spot at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 173 (it's the road to Arrowhead). You probably won't need chains because there wasn't too much snow. If there's no snow there keep going up Highway 18 toward Big Bear and you'll find snow in Running Springs and Green Valley Lake, it's just a few minutes to Snow Valley. We got a few inches of snow today and by tomorrow the roads will probably be plowed, so you most likely won't need chains. You'll drive right past Santa's Village, so the kids will like that. Have fun! And please don't leave trash behind; so many people just leave trash and broken sleds behind and it really sucks.
No its not open for snow boarding yet
There is no snow yet. You can look at the webcams in the website to check it.
Contact group sales, as long as it's one payment for the group and minimum of 10 in the party should qualify for group rates
If the first snow is early maybe mid November, usually by December for sure with man made.

A few weeks back they were making snow...probably through the spring break week that they would remain open.
Not at snow valley itself, but before you get to the resort there are places by the road to do so.
Probably Chairs 12, 13 and 6 that all service the lower mountain, beginner through intermediate terrain - enough to challenge you for a day after taking a lesson.
You can purchase tickets online that he can check in for. Or you know, you could just give him cash...
I love snow valley! Their prices are the lowest out of all the so cal resorts. This season has been rough with natural snow so I'd call first to check out conditions
I think so.
No snow. Only man made snow at Snow Valley. If you go to their website, you can view conditions and which lifts are open.
Not a single resort in Southern California had received any snow. There has not been any rain in SoCal. Snow Valley makes snow at every opportunity possible but conditions have to be right.
Mel's description is accurate. He is a good instructor. Mel was my first ski instructor 8 years ago.
Of course its open, last year I went there and it was open.
Lower mountain has good coverage. Not enough snow for upper mountain. Temps are low enough to blow snow.
If the road has snow or ice, the use of chains is almost mandatory. But that's only when it has been snowing for several days. I recommend you to be warned with your chains in the trunk, in case they get busy.
