The car was trashed by the previous renter and Budget didn't bother cleaning it...this location only had this car so there was no option to change it. I would rent from the airport where they have a larger selection.

My friends and I were on vacation and rented a Toyota Rav 4. The car was a lemon. On the way to Tampa, we stopped in Naples to purchase gas and the car would not start back up. (The vehicle was given to us with only a quarter tank of gas). We were stranded for 2 hours. We called the roadside number on the key tag several times: the first time the customer service agent made it seem like we did something wrong, explaining we would be charged if they sent someone out and recommending we use our own AAA service if we have it. We had the truck for all of 3 hours at this time. We then called back to the West Avenue location and explained what was happening and the agent advised we should call back to the roadside assistance number. The second agent was great, her name was Helen Johnson and she arranged for a tow and a Lyft (tow ticket 10542845), but after waiting two hours in a thunderstorm, we were able to get a Good Samaritan to assist us with getting the car started. But, each and every time, we turned the truck off, it would not restart and required assistance. This is just part of the story. We have elevated our request for a refund. Needless to say, we will not rent from Budget again. We are definitely disappointed with the customer service.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Budget is not a customer friendly company to begin with but this location is the absolute WORST. I made a reservation prior to my cruise. I get back in town to be told they overbooked and that they needed to change my reservation (forget having plans for the last day of vacation). Employee couldn't care less and offered a lesser car then the car I reserved for more money. They don't even deserve the 1 star

Sadly this office did have 5 stars but after a recent trip we have updated to 4.. please see both experiences below. November 2018: Because people only tend to review when things are bad I wanted to improve the reviews on this office :) We arrived to the new Royal Caribbean Miami port and took a cab to this office (it was $25) but the best $25 we ever spent! The Budget office local to the port was over run with customers and could not cope so we had planned this well in advance after reading reviews about it! Even so we still read a few bad reviews about this office too so were still slightly concerned but we didn't need to be :) Arriving at the office there was no one even there other than a very friendly lady at the desk! We were told she didn't have our case of car (basic) so upgraded us for free to a much nicer car. She gave us lots of info about the tolls etc and we were in our car and driving away within 10 minutes!! The whole process could not have been easier and we will definitely do this again when we arrive in Miami again next year! Updated November 2019: On our second visit to Florida we didn't hesitate when booking a car through the same office. This time we took an Uber from Miami cruise terminal (costing just $9) and arrived to a completely empty office once again. In the office we told the woman behind the desk that a) we did not want to bring our car back empty of fuel b) we did not want the unlimited toll service. We signed for the car, she made us aware of a small amount of damage to the car and sent us on our way. We took the elevator to our car which was quite badly damaged and also very dirty. The boot was full of sand, grit and trash. But because we were in such a hurry to get on the road we brushed it off and continued on our way. 2 wonderful weeks later we returned our car to Orlando and off we went back to the UK. Only to find a few days later we had a large charge on our credit card. After some digging we found out we had been charged for a full tank of fuel (even thought we brought it back full), unlimited tolls, a battery charge and various other weird and wonderful things!! We dug out our contract and despite clearly stating to the woman at the office that we did NOT want these things she had charged us for them anyway. Yes yes I know it was our fault for not reading the contract before signing but when you trust a company, the text is tiny and it's going to take you quite some time to read it you become lazy and just sign on the dotted line! Needless to say we won't be doing that again. Mistakes happen... and thankfully Budget have recently after some chasing refunded the cost. We would use the office again but this time would carefully read anything before signing.

No,but it close to the port of miami.
No
It's just on the other side of the bridge from the island. Less busy than the cruise specific location.
