This facility was great! I wish we had more time because this facility is huge. It is definitely a great learning experience for kids, very family oriented place. Friendly staff and a couple nice gift shops and a small food court area to dine. My kids definitely enjoyed this place.

Great exhibits! It was a little crowded, but what isn't anymore in Denver? We did the planetarium as well which was really neat. There was a lot to see and we didn't quite get to all of it before everyone was worn out, but it was worth the money.

This is a pretty nice museum. There is a ton of taxidermy though which takes up a lot of real estate, and I'd rather see other things. The dinosaur area is pretty neat, and their temporary guitar exhibit was cool! I'd say this museum is worth a visit.

We take our toddlers a few times a month, and they love running around the different exhibits. The Discover Zone is usually our final stop (they usually get wet w the water table), but the Space area is top notch. The planetarium is a nice treat. Very thoughtfully curated Museum to stimulate learning.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes, they have a gift shop just past the entrance / exit.
look at the beatiful mineral connection. see taxidermy showed in their mimicked environments. go to the hall of health and learn a lot about animals and yourself. There is a park out back with a fountain. This is summer you can enjoy that. There are, in fact, many excellent exhibits.
Yes, it will be ongoing until August 25 2019. Have fun and enjoy.
2018 SCFD Community Free Days Monday, January 8 Sunday, January 28 Monday, February 12 Monday, April 9 Sunday, April 29 (Día del Niño) Sunday, June 3 Thursday, July 5 (Night, 4pm-10pm) Monday, August 13 Wednesday, September 12 (Night, 4pm-10pm) Sunday, September 30 Sunday, October 14 Sunday, December 9 These free days only cover admission to the museum.
$5 adults $4 seniors
Yes!!!! There’s also a discovery play area for toddlers which is opened at certain hours throughout the day.
Do you need a hand?? The museum is sort of small...but that is perspective. Scooters are extremely available in Colorado. If this doesn't answer your question, there are tons of people who own a scooter too... If that is the case, a simple request on local Facebook pages will find you a humble owner ..and quite likely free too. I wish I knew what you meant. That term depends on the people you are asking. Scooter for around town?!? Absolutely... we the state are a tourist destination. Do you mean handicapped or road legal?
Between $ 16 and $ 20 per person. And the events go extra.
They aren't big enough, but you should have no trouble rolling it behind you.
This place is amazing for kids. Dinosaur Gulch: Entering the Discovery Zone, a life-size climbable dinosaur welcomes children to Dinosaur Gulch—a western paleontology dig experience where children can excavate fossils amid rock outcroppings. Water Way: Leaping laminar fountains, modeled on City Park’s interactive water feature, animate the Water Play area and provide fun opportunities for children to manipulate and observe water in action. Be prepared to get wet! Construction Corner: In this area, children experiment with building methods and materials in the context of well-known Denver-area structures, such as Denver International Airport. Science Kitchen: A multipurpose science and art lab, the Science Kitchen is a great place to conduct investigations and create art projects. Big Backyard: The Big Backyard is an area designed expressly for children under the age of two, providing opportunities for first encounters with nature and science.
From their website: Wheelchairs, canes, and strollers may be checked out at no charge from the Information Desk on a first-come, first-served basis.
Some are permanent, while others change out. They can all be found on https://www.dmns.org/visit/exhibitions/
It is. We were there Sunday July 5th and it was open. Enjoyed some lunch while visiting. Place was not crowded at all with the museum limiting the number of folks visiting.
I was able to when I went. Also dinosaur ridge lets you
Admission is free under 2. Ages 3-11 the admission is $14
Same here we purchased them at the door but I'm sure it won't be long.
They have a thing called a website - https://www.dmns.org/visit/plan-your-visit/ The Museum is open every day, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., except December 25
There is no affiliation or combined membership between the zoo and museum.
Yes. You can bring strollers, diaper bags, large purses, back packs and sack lunches. I saw a person with a backpack ice chest.
Yes, wheelchairs and strollers are available to be signed out at the information desk
Yes. A $3 discount. So 16.95 at the door, or $14.95 if you purchase online. https://www.dmns.org/visit/pricing-and-discounts/

Yes at least one place to buy food and a large area to sit and eat.
Yes
9-5! No change in hours :-)
I don't think they would allow pets unless they were registered service animals.
The right hours have been posted by Silas. The only thing I can add is to buy your Dead Sea Scrolls ticket in advance before your visit. We had to buy tickets 3 weeks in advance to see them on a saturday.
There are several free days throughout the year, and are listed in the website under Planning Your Visit and then SCFD Free Days. The front desk and information desk also have pamphlets with a list of the current year's free days.
They do state the tetragrammaton. It's the word that is the original name of the lord. However, there are no vowels so pronounciation is debatable. Interesting and true.
This is google maps, you might want to contact the museum directly.
Yes you can bring you own food and they have seating available to you so you can it!
There are lockers they are by the escalators right underneath. I believe they are 25 cents.
It is not included.
No. In 2017 only these days are free: Sunday, January 22 Monday, February 27 Monday, March 13 Monday, April 10 Sunday, April 30 (Children's Day) Sunday, June 4 Sunday, August 6 Monday, August 28 Sunday, September 17 Monday, October 16 Monday, November 13 Sunday, December 10
Yes, there is. The next one after that is Sept. 17.
About the moon yes , big bird to moon unsure
Yes to both questions. They want you to choose a time online but you can walk in and they will help you if you need
That would be something to ask volunteer services. Call the main number and ask for volunteer services they _Might_ be able to arrange something for you on a special needs basis.
There are select Planetarium shows in Spanish that currently show on the weekend. Some exhibits are translated and much of the signage is in Spanish. Give their Guest Services a call with any questions. Also more and more of their YouTube content is in Spanish
If mobility is an issue, there are elevators and escalators. The building is handicap friendly.
There are two exhibits that you have to pay additional to access. Those are timed entry so they can monitor how many people are in there. IMAX movie seating is very spaced out as well
We were able to go in and purchase tickets still but I'm not entirely sure if they still offer it!
We went on a free day, but we had four adults and i believe our savings was around $70. The traveling Pixar Exhibit was optional and cost us $10 each.
About 150$
you can get discounts for having a Colorado SNAP card or having a Denver library card and reserving a ticket on their website too.
The entrance ticket covers most exhibits. There are a few which charge an additional fee, such as the virtual reality lab, and the Pixar Animation show. Last week, the VR lab was charging $8 per child and $9 per adult. I'm sure the content of the other 'extra' feature areas will change from time to time, and ticket prices may also change. They seem to have set start times for most of these areas, and there must be a limit to the number of people they can handle with each show/feature. If you have a large group, you may want to call it check the website for scheduling. Most of the standard exhibits need no real tour to enjoy, but if you are taking a number of children and want to make it a real learning experience, you should contact them ahead of time to see if they can provide a member of their staff whose focus is on that area.
I don't remember well but I think $ 17. If you are in Denver as a tourist you can buy a pass online in citypass and you have tickets to the most important centers at lower prices.
15 $ to go in and 8 dollars for the vr and 5 for the planetarium(its super cool) and that's all the cost that I know of
I saw an area with a lot of kids left inside but, as I am a senior and went as volunteer with a Memory Care group, I can't answer that with certainty. If you have problems with time or your kids are very young, you can pay entrance to only certain areas, like the planetarium for instance.
The one on the left
We were there the other day & they had some rooms & areas sectioned off for private events. I don't know any details or what the events were for.. But looks like a possibility. I would call and ask 😊
What is the age for children
9-5 every day
Tickets are only valid for the day you purchase. However, there are many "free days" and if you have an EBT/ SNAP card, admission is only $1.
18.95 for adults
I didn't see anyone else with a dog..but maybe call before you go there.
They have classes for young children (preK - age 7). Summer programs fill up fast but there might be a slot open or waiting list for cancellations. Side note: Art Museum has backpacks you can pick up and/or stations you can visit with your little for a project of the day.
Open every day 9am to 5pm
No, once you pay your membership fee you're home free :)
Yes. Only closed on Christmas.
There's a list of free days under the Pricing & Discounts page on their website. Upcoming dates are July 2nd 5-10pm, and all day August 26th.
Do they have old wagons yes in their cowboy or wild west section
Denver card yes, if you're a local and you plan to go there often I would check out being a member to the museum
I believe that it's between $15-$20 per person, if you're local I recommend purchasing a membership, a family is around $120 a year, unlimited visits.
Go to their website and it will give you a list of the exhibits. The main exhibit changes several times a year. Admission prices are listed on the website.
Wheelchairs are available at the information desk.
Andy, You need to call them up directly for details.
Yes I did notice it. The special displays cost to get into but the entrance fee for most of the museum is covered by the snap card and $1
I would reach out to their head of HR and request a direct response from them. A contact number should be available through any career portal or job posting. Good luck!
On their website it said you can buy adult tickets online for $19. When I went I had a City Pass, assuming you don't live in Denver, it was a really good investment if you want to see other attractions too.
Check online. There are also special deals for Denver residents on certain days and age-related like over 55. You can see all of that online. Last time I went I think it was free because of over 65 Denver resident status.
Yes, the museum and the zoo. Up to 10 can get in. Go enjoy and have fun.
Adults $19.95 and Children $14.95
March 1 2019
Yes
Yea
I did not see any while I was there , although It would not put it past me if they did.
Their website should have information on that. They also have occasional free days.

Might want to check their website as I'm sure they may change.
$16.95 for adults! Open from 9-5
Im unsure of the normal price,. But if you have an EBT card, you can go for a dollar a person up to 10 people I believe...my mom raised us with foodstamps and it was one of my favorite trips to go and do. :)
Per their website Museum Admission Adult [+$16.95] Museum Admission Child (Ages 3-10) [+$11.95] Museum Admission Junior (Ages 11-18) [+$11.95] Museum Admission Senior [+$13.95]
I'd try getting a family plan. They are listed at $109.95 for basic, the plus family plan lists for $159.95. And you may be able to take a friend as a guest. Costs have gone up recently but it's well worth the investment!
Mr Carter's answer is best. I think you may already know more about dinosaurs than me!
16.95 per adult, 11.95 per child + tax... if you want to visit the planetarium then you have to add $5 per adult and $4 per child
I think it's free or $6.00
Yes
I don't know.
Yep!
You will need tickets for both
What is the cost for a 8yr old for one year and the cost for a 3yr old for a year? Would like to purchase ASAP. Thank you.
I believe you can reserve online. Just visit their website and click on IMAX tile.
Depends on age, Sr discount and children discount. For me, 1adult 1 sr.. $49
If you should ever get the opportunity to go to Chicago I'd highly recommend you check out the field museum, Science and industry, and also check out the Shedd aquarium! And if you're in Washington DC The Smithsonian...
Give them a call
I feel the need....the need for speed goose.
Some of the exhibits do require that an adult accompany children.
$17 to get into door, extra $7 to get into the Imax and another $7 to get into the dead sea scrolls.
Yes and I would advise you to take this opportunity to see it BUT its very cool in there take long sleeves they have to keep it very cool inthere
Dead Sea Scrolls
I paid around $25 without a membership. That was museum admission and the dead sea scrolls. I suggest buying it online so you'll be guaranteed a time.
I'm sure the phone number is on the website. Use the phone number to call to ask what is playing when.
There is parking right in front but you must be very early to get a spot.
3 shows...Jerusalem, Pandas, & Music
I saw people using scooters while i was there
You may try underground parking, more spaces.
They are very accommodating and they would probably exchange your tickets for a different day that's all
Yes by the (north) main entrance
Adults are $16.95 Kids (3-18) are $11.95 Age 2 and under are free There are also family yearly packs that last for one year and an unlimited amount of visits.
Yes they do. You can check one out with a photo ID. 👍
Free wheelchairs and canes can be checked out from the information desk with a valid form of ID.
Its around $7 if you have the yearly family membership. I believe its around $22 without.
According to their website wheelchairs canes and strollers can be checked out free of charge on a first-come-first-serve basis, however and ID must be left as a deposit.
Yes and you can do the same at the children's museum
Honestly most of the museum is great for kids. The space section, the dinosaurs area and discovery zone would probably be the most interesting.
Check their website, it has all the information you need.
They dont allow photos to be taken inside the dead sea scrolls exhibit.
There are a lot of exhibits and interactive things to do. Plan to spend as real hours there.
Just FYI, you've asked people who use Google maps, not the museum itself. Go to their website and look for the "contact us" link. Don't be surprised if it takes a long time to get a response. This is not a service they provide. However if there is a local University, you'll have a better chance if you contact their geology dept. Also, slabs of ocean fossils can be found throughout large portions of the Colorado plateau and are just not that rare.
Just like any place they have a maximum capacity and I have never seen them reach it. Parking is rough no matter which day you go. I suggest parking elsewhere and eother uber it over or if its warm enough walk.
If not a member you may dependimg on exhibit.
7 pm
This is the ASTC perk that comes with a membership. Other museums 90 miles from DMNS and beyond that are also ASTC institutions will accept membership from DMNS.
OK, GOOD LUCK!
It's 109.95 for parents and children. It goes up if you add grandparents or guests.
The musuem has a cafeteria (11-2) and a smaller snack shop (9-5) on the first floor. I think there is also a coffee shop upstairs.
The University of Colorado Denver Department of Anthropology might be able to help too! They have a website with contact information.
Through Sept 3rd. Yes, there is additional cost. Get your timed tickets ahead of time. Not sure what the cost for seniors is. There's a discount for members
SNAP Recipients Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients will receive $1 admission per person for up to 10 people when they show their EBT card.
You need to pick your areas you want to see. To much to see everything in one day.
Current Films Conquest Skies, Americas Musical Journey, Jerusalem, Star Wars
This is Google Maps, the museum doesn't monitor this question section. Please contact them directly.
No. The Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit requires tickets which must be purchased separately for a specific time.
16.95 per adult. This does not include dead sea scrolls, planetarium, or imax.
The tickets for the Dead Sea Scrolls are timed tickets. Thus the only time you can get in is the time your ticket is for.
Yes. And there are tables in the atrium where you can eat your food on.
You can use your ID for them to look up your membership.
They don't have a free day in March. April 9, April 29, June 3, July 5, Aug. 13, Sept. 12, Sept. 30, Oct. 14, Dec. 9.
Yep.
Wow had no idea that's a great deal can't beat that great way to advocate for the sciences!
No, they do not. They used to be available but they no longer are.
They do vary in length. The film you mentioned is 42 minutes long.
It cam appeal to all ages. They have it set up nicely for children, teenagers, adults. I would recommend checking their website. Lots of interactive items for the kids! Lots of fun!
No, it separate ticket $6-$9
no you cannot. you have to have a membership for the museum to get in for free.
No. But there are a handful of free days throughout the year.
It depends on the exhibit, most of the travelling exhibits do. But several of the permanent exhibits have screens/painted walls you can stand in front of for a photo.
Yes.
Not sure when the free days are this year, but if it is a free day i am pretty sure it is all day.
Adding to Carla's answer, seniors 65-plus are $14. There are a few special rates like military, too.
9-5, normal hours. They close only on Dec. 25th
Absolutely! And you can eat in their dining area by the T-Rex Cafe or have a picnic outside. I personally prefer inside, they have water.
The "Ultimate Dinosaurs" exhibit is currently there.
I wouldn't say coat check...but there is definitely a place where you can hang your coat! It is safe and nobody will steal it! And if that doesn't work for you they have lockers!
A Mother's Room, furnished with an armchair, sink, and electrical outlet, is in the family restroom inside Gems and Minerals on Level 1.
MUSEUM HOURS Open Every Day 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Except December 25
If you went through the whole museum without kids, probably all day
no there really isn't anywhere to store your luggage while you tour the museum.
You can take pictures of almost all exhibitions. For some exhibitions flash use is not allowed but you still can use your camera without flash.
Accessibility will depend on membership type and level.
Besides decorations not sure but there generally special exhibits.Call the after 9 or 10.
Yes they do
Check the website for free days & other ongoing events... That is most accurate , imo
Adult tickets are $16.95 each, Children over 3 are $11.95 each.
They did have them but theu maybe out now
