After driving for more than 300 miles I arrive at 9:00 AM when this place supposedly open for the public (9-12 closed all Swedish and US holidays). The sign outside confirms that they are open to the public 9-12 but no one answers the door. Try to call but no answer, no way to leave a message. The recording says in an emergence call the embassy in Washington DC. The embassy is “closed for lunch”. Come on – who closes their embassy for lunch??? After more than 30 min of waiting a tired, very rude junior employee shows up, she have no idea where the passports are. While inside the phones in EVERY office are ringing non-stop but not a single person is there (except the rude junior employee). After about 30 min I finally manage to obtain my passport. As I head to the small Illy coffee shop on the ground floor. Guess what that is where the entire consulate staff is, having coffee, loudly discuss their parties from the night before. They are making sure that they don’t get to office before it closes to the public at noon…. And this is the consulate from a country who proclaims to have eradicated ALL government corruption….??? YEH RIGHT! What a disgraceful way to represent your country!

Horrible phone system! These guys are not answering the phone and there's is no option to leave a message OR even options to be transferred, it's just a busy dial tone!

Very convenient and helpful. Lots of Swedish classes to pick from.

Just a heads-up that you can no longer renew your passport at the SF consulate. The passport machines are broken (and apparently there was a central decision to not repair them). A provisional passport can, however, be issued.
DC or NYC. SF can make a provisional passport
Yes actually you can. Right now (due to the pandemic) they are operating by appointment only. Email them to schedule an appointment and they can let you know what to bring. It took about 30 minutes to get the provisional passport
No, if you are American citizens you just need to fill out an ESTA Visa waiver.
I do not understand ,what you are looking for?? Please be more specific about what you need??!!
It's complicated. You would have to have applied before you turned 18. After that you would have to live in Sweden to get your dual citizenship. My son is in the same situation, born in Sweden, but didn't apply for citizenship before 18.
