This is a fantastic idea for a romantic experience. Highly suggest only one couple, though, as there's not much room for more than 3 people. Anyway, my experience was great & you can order from 1 of 3 local restaurants. Book in advance!

This place was so beautiful! The food was amazing, the log books were so entertaining to read! Such an amazing experience, you can even go out on the balcony. The service was amazing. All around 5 star experience

What a wonderful and fun dining experience. We were excited to have the opportunity to book the evening reservation for a beautiful sunset. The restaurant we selected was fantastic...the Mission Oak really did a fantastic job of food prep for delivery a few blocks away. Our waitress Darya was outstanding and very talented for climbing all of those small steps with food! Definitely plan appropriately for shoe wear and clothing...the ladder at the top is a bit logistical.

I am not sure why others gave good ratings. First off, the lighthouse is small, about 8ft diameter so don't let the pictures fool you, it is cramped up in there. Bathroom is obviously outside. Next, the email I got prior to the reservation said to call the light house preservation (LHP) and pick the menu items to make sure you have your choices available. When I called LHP, they said you don't need to pick menu items ahead of time. Got there and met the waiter, kind man. Chatted a bit, we picked appetizers. Then he told me afterwards when he was bringing the food up that my choice for appetizer wasn't available and what annoyed me was he did not ask me if I had a second choice. He went on to ask for main entree options. We gave it and then when it came time for dessert he said sorry, only the orange cake is available and restaurant is about to close. Not even a menu card explaining what's in it. So we didn't get dessert either. This was pre-paid to be a 3 course meal and I did not get it. He even gave the bill to us at the end, we had to tell him it was pre-paid. Overall not satisfied with it, won't be going back. If it was paid to be a 3 course meal, it should be honored, no excuses. Also when asking about the bathroom situation he confidently said there is a bar that is open late so not to worry. At around 10 at the end of the night, the tone changed to, "oh let me see if the bar is still open since it's late" thank god it was!. Just be cautious of this when booking.

Questions & Answers

What are the menu prices like?

In short, it doesn't really work like that- with menu prices. You actually reserve the space in the lighthouse and then one of the local restaurants caters it. I got a Groupon for it and the Starboard Galley was included in the Groupon. I believe the entire experience was $300 by Groupon. If you don't get the Groupon I think it was around $400 to have the lighthouse for 4 hrs then maybe $300 to have it catered. If you check the lighthouse website all that info is there.

You have to call and make reservations. They get busy in the warmer weather

I saw a Groupon for breakfast or dinner for 4 but how much is dinner for 2 or breakfast for 2?

I can't help you with that - my dinner was a birthday gift - but all I can say it was OUTSTANDING and one I'll ALWAYS remember!

How many stairs are there to climb to get to the top? Can folks on their 60s do it?

There are about 55 stairs - and a small metal ladder to climb through a small opening to get into the opening of the top of light house. If you take it slow and have good knees you should be ok. A wonderful experience.
