I was looking for a birthday cake for my sister-in-law who is a fellow foodie who lives on Plum Island, MA and when searching options, Buttermilk Baking Co. came up and didn't disappoint! I did a custom chocolate cake and then a dozen macaroons for the non-cake eaters. The cake had tons of flavor and also stood up well two days later. The macaroons also were done to perfection and were gone almost immediately by our family. I was so impressed, before we left town, I stopped in on a Saturday morning to get an assortment of muffins, cinnamon rolls, honey biscuit, etc. - the blueberry muffin was amazing! This place is a "highly recommend" - and I rarely ever say that!

Oh my goodness everything here is so good. Stopped in while using the laundry mat around the corner since we are on vacation. Grabbed a nutter butter to eat while walking around, then came back and bought a few things to bring back to my family. Everything was fabulous.

We stopped in while roaming around downtown and grabbed a few different kinds of cookies - they were all disappointing. The gf / df chocolate chip cookie was a heavy coconut flavor but somehow the chocolate was tasteless. The gf/df almond cloud cookie tasted like it was made a month ago, dry crunchy and crumbly and massive amounts of sugar. My bf got a raspberry thumbprint, the cookie didn't have much flavor and barely any jam. He said the nutterbutter was okay but at that point the bar was low. Each cookie was almost $4.00, wildly over priced for below average goods. We'll never go back and definitely won't be recommending to anyone.

Very few times I find myself trying to find words to describe an experience and in this case also products. Ashley, the owner, is one of those unique combinations of extremely professional, expert and love for her craft, and a wicked sense of humor to be her "cake topper!" Now for the product. We live all the way on the other side of the country from the store and had some of the items shipped to us. Think about that for a second. Cakes and pies shipped across the country. Tossed around, sitting out in a hot wear house, thrown around like a shot-put are only some of the many situations our order went through along its delivery journey. The care, quality, and ingredients that go into the making of these baked mouthwatering delights equally carries over into the attention to detail of how to combat the uncontrollable treatment of the shipment. Dry ice, padding that seems like it can withstand being kicked around like a soccer ball, it's absolutely mind blowing! All other bakeries need to pay buttermilk baking company on their ingenuity and engineering marvels on how to reach customers nation wide. To say I'm impressed and pleased on all judging categories is an understatement! While we on the west coast, our go to bakery moving forward is on the east coast! You will NOT be disappointed.
