The areas and sections of this waterside State Park in Bristol RI is very diverse in character and views.
It has different moods to seek out, pathways to follow, shaded areas to tuck under, and all the sunlight you want.
A favorite gathering place for groups of friends or organizations celebrating.
I even conducted a couple outdoor weddings there years ago.
For a time 40 years ago I was blessed to live within walking distance.
Walking, running, wandering, even napping can happen between raids of your picnic basket!!

Beautiful place! My brother in law set up a family reunion for us at a lovely picnic area 25. You get 10 tables for your group and have all day to use the spot. It was so awesome we got there at 10 and stayed until sunset 🥰 the staff was very accommodating and came and checked on us a few times. Thanks for the memories

Amazing waterfront park with a state beach and boat launch. There isna walking/biking trail, picnic benches and stone walkways. The sunsets here are beautiful and the people are friendly. It does however fill up quickly some weekends.

Stunning RI State Park. No fee to get in. Excellent place for family picnics with several grilling areas throughout the Park to choose from. Directly on Narragansett Bay with gorgeous Ocean Views. Great place to walk or Bike, and just a short distance from the East Bay Bike Path and downtown Bristol. One of the nicest places to catch a great sunset. Highly recommended!!!
I have a mini motorbike is that acceptable to ride? Any trails?

I wouldn't think so...
Has anyone hosted a wedding reception at this park before? If so, what was the range for the rental and what do they allow/not allow there.

yes and they actually have a chapel right down by the water which is beautiful I think you'd probably have to contact Bristol Town Hall and find out about some of the details what's allowed and what's not
Colt state park usually closes at sundown or when it gets dark, there is a curfew for the park and environmental police search the park after dark to make sure that no one is in colt state after dark.
They are outside the bathroom facility cold water only. You are in full public display while you are showering. You'll want to keep your bathing suit on
I dont remember the exact total, but we rented the wedding site for 3 hrs and the gazebo for the day amd it was less than $150 for an out of state resident...an awesome deal in a beautiful park!
YES! I've had family gatherings and it's been great! Just get to a free, non-reservable spot bright & early, clean up afterwards by bringing your own trash bags and you'll be golden! Hope this helps!
Yes you have to. For my daughter's baby shower last year in September we reserved 20 tables and it was $40.00. I believe it was $2.00 per table. We called about a month and a half in advance to reserve the the date and site.
Yes, I attended a family reunion where a bounce house was rented out. Just mention it when you call to reserve. Also, you would need a generator for the bounce house, there’s no outlets
Colt State Park does not have a beach. The Bristol Town Beach is adjacent to the north and is sometimes confused with being part of the Park. Visit http://www.bristolri.us/facilities/facility/details/Town-Beach-and-Sports-Complex-2 for more information.
