Plants came in excellent condition and were carefully securely packaged. Plants came quickly. Very happy with purchase.

I’ve ordered two perennial plants and they’ve arrived in a week. However, the quality of the plants is not satisfactory: they are very small, one only have one shoot and there’s an alien green growth on the top of the soil, the other plant have very few leaves and they appear to be rotten. The chances for these plants to thrive are not good.

I don't recommend buying live plants from this place. They do not package them for surviving the rough handling that UPS and USPS gives the package, so you end up with a mess. I ordered some Ostrich Ferns from them and when I opened the package, there was dirt everywhere. At first I thought that they had sent me bare root dormant plants. Nope, they were suppose to be in pots, but due to their poor packaging all the dirt and plants were all over the inside of the shipping box. The root balls had disintegrated due to being so dry, dry, dry. Only one of the poor plants looked like it might survive. I immediately emailed customer service with photos and a request for replacement plants. No response. After several days I phoned them and after waiting on hold for nearly 20 minutes, I finally talked to someone who offered replacement plants or a partial refund. (They don't refund the shipping cost.) I took the replacement plants and about a week later they arrived. But wouldn't you know it? The replacements arrived in the exact same condition as the original order! Dirt all over and out of the pots with plants everywhere. This time, however, the potting soil was hydrated so the root balls had some integrity. I think that I may have a few that will survive but not 100% confident. So, two orders, phone calls, emails and I think I may have about 50% of the plants that I really need and want. Useless. Again, I do NOT recommend buying from this place.

I have only purchased prairie seed from American Meadows. 4 times to be exact (twice for work), and every time, I have had great success. At my personal home I used a blended mix 3 years ago. The first year, the annuals were amazing! The second year the planting was ho-hum. But this third year, I can't stop smiling. The native area looks great, and the perennials have really come into their own. Only thing I would recommend: What they tell you for seed rate, double it. Otherwise, VERY HAPPY.

Roy, thank you for reaching out. We have a great resource on fall planting here: https://www.americanmeadows.com/fall-planting-wildflower-seeds The short answer is mimic nature and plant them in the fall ... but make sure you get a good killing frost or two first (depending on where you live). You don't want them to geminate this fall or they're get zapped by winter. We're here for more specific questions, if you have them. If you reach out again, please give us your zip code so we can give you more localized tips. Best Wishes, American Meadows.
No they are a separate company
Hello Michele - We're so happy to hear your pink Calla Lily is a star of the garden! The Giant Imperial Larkspur is an annual, so you'll want to plant it in the spring after the chance of frost has passed. During mild winters it will likely self-seed. For a shady, wet corner, we'd suggest Lobelia, Virginia Bluebells, Hosta, Astible or Trillium. They would all do well there.
You'll want to space the Dahlia tubers at one per square foot. They can be interspersed with other plants, just make sure they have about one square foot of room to grow. Make sure the taller plant is in the rear. Happy gardening!

Hello Millard...This mix will average 24" - 40" depending on soil conditions. Ideally you would determine how much seed to plant based on the size of the area you are wanting to cover. A 1/4 lb. of our seed would cover over 1,000 square feet, so a little goes a long way! Unless you're dealing with soil that is very poor and hasn't supported any growth would I recommend adding fertilizer. In most cases your soil conditions are going to be just fine to grow Zinnia's and other flowers. If you are wanting to add, I'd suggest a 10-10-10 and apply light to start.
I'd recommend using builders or sand box sand as it will mix better with our seeds. I'd recommend a ratio of 6 parts sand to 1 part seed. I hope this information helps and please let us know if we can be of further assistance!
