Very happy we went. The trails, the shuttles, the animals, the friendly and knowledge staff, the bread and cheese making areas - - all great.

This is simply one of the most picturesque places to visit in Vermont. The landscape was originally the work of Frederick Law Olmsted with its pastoral views. The farm is now devoted to sustainable farming and has a vibrant Market Garden to enjoy that provides farm to table ingredients for their restaurant at the Inn. Without a doubt, the Formal Gardens at Saxton Point is truly stunning. The backdrop of this garden is the historic home now an Inn, a timeless example of Queen Anne architecturefrom the Guilded Age.. A nod to the many people who are working there as they were immensely helpful and knowledgeable. The gardener at the Formal Garden was informative about what to see and the perennials in the garden. It is one of those places you must go to and savor every bit of nature. Spend an afternoon and wear very comfortable shoes as it will be alot of walking. Highly recommend

Great little farm with a wonderful history. Cheese and bread making on site. Dark animals to see and pet. It's got an inn and restaurant that are worth making reservations for. You can run and bike around the roads on the property. There's nature trails and beautiful views of the lake

As for me it's a bit overpriced. You can get the same products from this farm in other stores twice cheaper. However, it is a nice place to hike, gorgeous nature!

Hi Adil, Currently use of our walking trails is by donation. There is no admission fee per se. But be aware that some of our usual programs and activities are not being offered this season.
Hi Natasha, as some of our followers have already shared (thanks!), you are welcome to enjoy the property, but do so at your own risk. We don't maintain the grounds and trails during the winter season. And due to covid, all our buildings and barns are closed to the public (no bathrooms!). While you're here, you can also order our cheddar and chef-prepared meals curbside from our Farm Store!
Dogs on leashes are permitted from November 1 to March 31. Thanks for asking.
From mid-May to mid-October: $8 Adults, $6 Seniors, $5 Children 3-17; Free for children under 3. Entry is free in the off-season.
Hi there, the number is 802-985-8498.
Hi Sara -- What Kevin said! Our walking trails and Children's Farmyard are open by donation again this year.
Thanks so much for asking. To be as equitable as possible, we have to say "no" to all dogs. It gets a little confusing because you may see dogs here that are owned by staff or residents who live on the farm. Thanks for understanding.
1,400 acres of a working farm: woodlands, pastures, cropland, and fields. Thanks for asking!
Yes to both. Open and restrictions. Wear a mask, keep distance. And all public buildings are closed for visitors. But property is open to enjoy
Thanks, Liz! You are correct! There is no recreational biking on the Farm (You may occasionally see a staff person biking for transportation, so sometimes confusion arises.)
While we welcome folks to enjoy our walking trails, I’m afraid we do not host RVers. Thanks for your inquiry and enjoy your travels!
I'd be surprised if you could not. But definitely call them.
Call the number on their website ?
Hi, As others have already shared, we are open 7 days a week, including Sundays. The Welcome Center & Store hours are 9:30 am to 5:30 pm through October 20. Beginning Monday, October 21, our fall and winter hours are 10 am to 5 pm. Hope you stop by! -- Holly
Michael, You'll have to contact Shelburne Museum (which is a separate organization) for the answer to that. Good luck. -- Holly
Hi Jerry, A great place to start is with a Property Tour, which run @10:30, 12:30, and 2:30 daily. If you have children, or don't want to commit to a tour, then simply taking the shuttle wagon to the Farm Barn and enjoying the Children's Farmyard and observing cheesemaking might be the way to go. (Don't miss the short walk up Lone Tree Hill for some fabulous views.) If you want to sneak in a breakfast at the Inn, you can call ahead for reservations at 802-985-8498. Hope this helps! Look forward to welcoming you! -- Holly, Director of Communications
Hi there, You can take one of our property tours, which are offered three times daily, May 11-October 20, 2019, at 10:30, 12:30, and 2:30. As Greg mentions, for general admission, you can take a tractor-drawn shuttle wagon to our Farm Barn (about a kilometer ride), and walk our many trails from there. There are other specialized tours as well that are offered weekly. You can check them all out here: https://shelburnefarms.org/visit/tours I hope you get to visit! Holly -- Communications Director
Hi Sarah, Unfortunately, the Inn is closed for the season. You're welcome to bring her to the Welcome Center for some treats, but the Inn closed on October 22. (It reopens May 11, 2019)
Shelburne Farms has already closed for the season, including the restaurant at the Inn.
No, there's no pumpkin patch.
